August 8, 201411 yr What did Stanton ever do to you? He's just trying to help our team win. Why would you hate on someone like that... And has been our best helper this season. I'm not hating, but Stanton will not hit a 494 foot home run guaranteed.
August 8, 201411 yr At least Reggie abercrombie could hit with risp. But aside from that, he was nothing special.
August 8, 201411 yr I'm not hating, but Stanton will not hit a 494 foot home run guaranteed. No, he probably won't. But it would be cool if he did, right?
August 8, 201411 yr Author Off the top of my head I can remember four blown saves against the Reds already.
August 8, 201411 yr No, he probably won't. But it would be cool if he did, right? Absolutely, and no disrespect. When you mentioned imagine him hitting that long of a home run, I thought "hmm, NOW THIS has to be on sportscenter to lead the show off" but 1. We are the marlins 2. Hitting a game run that far is rare. 3. They are not playing the Yankees. 4. The way the trend of the team is going, it will seem highly unlikely and perhaps even un memorable if that happens.

If anyone can, Stanton can. 3. I don't understand 4. Things happen at the most unlikeliest of moments. Just to add on: I initially said it in jest, not actually predicting it will happen. Thanks for replying. Nice to "meet" you.

Nice to meet you too, brother, I am Vince ( obviously lol )by the way.

And for number 3, sportscenter tends to show things Yankees related only or big market teams. Since reds aren't in that class, there is no reason that they should lead off sportscenter. They are like a glorified marlins if you will.
August 8, 201411 yr And seeing Jennings oblivious to his surroundings after the liner is very rough to see, considering I figured he was just going to collapse. Prayers are out for him. You don't want to see anyone go down like that.

August 8, 201411 yr Weird way for it to happen, but might Jennings' injury cause us to pull Turner back from the Cubs claim and keep him in the bullpen?
August 8, 201411 yr Weird way for it to happen, but might Jennings' injury cause us to pull Turner back from the Cubs claim and keep him in the bullpen? He's gone completely, from what I understand is that if we pull him back we have to expose him to irrevocable waivers and get nothing for him. All because we took him off the 40 man roster.

All because we took him off the 40 man roster. If we can't make a deal with the Cubs and we pull him back he can't come back to Miami, but another team would claim him the next time through and we would work out a trade with that team.
August 8, 201411 yr Can we please send Vince on an extended vacation? I can't take it anymore. Designate him for assignment or something like that?

We can't work out another deal. Next time he's claimed he's gone for nothing. Which is what I'm sure the cubs are doing.

All because we took him off the 40 man roster. Actually if we pull him back we can keep him, but then we can't try to get rid of him without putting him on irrevocable waivers. We do have the one chance to pull him back.
August 8, 201411 yr Admin, I think it's long overdue for us to use baseball transaction terms on this forum. Like when a user gets banned we should say he was DFA'd. Also, out of options, optioned down, placed on the DL, traded, drafted, compensation picks, Kevin Gregg'd. Etc.
August 8, 201411 yr If I am traded, I don't want to go to a fan forum that's nationals, cubs, diamondbacks or Indians and Astros. That should be a no trade clause too.
August 8, 201411 yr Any idea what the trade value of Vince is right now? It's a bad idea. We'd be selling low.
August 8, 201411 yr Very low. Now, pollyvonwog on the other hand, we could maybe get a decent prospect in return.
