So happy for Nicolino. I've been big on him since picking up one of his team issued jerseys. Hope he can keep it up.

Wonder what Preston thinks it was?

A pitch that can't be recorded because stats are dumb.

me too, and there's a lot.

Nic was awesome.  What are the chances Cosart throws 7+ scoreless in that spot?  Good lord...

No chance, Cosart ends up having a complete meltdown after the first hit of the game because no one can hit off of him.

That a sick pitch to Puig. It was good to get this win even after the ejections.

awesome outing by Nicholeeno..Mattingly ejected again no love from LA, we're back on the road to the WS

Nico gave us our best pitched game of the season, who would have thunk it. Loved his pace and how he pounded the zone, getting ahead on counts, curve and change-up looked great. It was a joy to watch.

Urena was shock and awe. Maybe he found his niche.

last week I wrote about marlins will be given a boost and like the sheep we are will be all excited. however....regardless, winning 3 in a row in LA in mighty impressive. the offense is not super great out there for them, but beating Kershaw and the others are huge.

the fish of the week debate will be incredible especially if new heroes step up this weekend.

Although it's true that Morris sucks. And breslow isn't good either although so far he's been ok. However most bullpens have shitty guys in them. But comparing this pen to what it was two weeks ago we have developed a nice hierarchy of reliable relievers. Ramos. Phelps. Barraclough. Possibly ureña. And guys with promise like Ege. So if Morris and breslow are the last guys on the pen it isn't really that bad.

Been thinking this exact thing for a while now. If our worst guys are the guys at the bottom of the line then we're way improved.

Bryan Morris is a -.5 WAR pitcher in only 8.1IP. That is an impressive amount of suck right there

Yeah, I wish we'd let him go and give the spot to someone else. Even though he's never been THIS bad before so maybe they're hoping he turns it around. His velocity is back up again it seems compared to his earlier games this year so maybe that's a positive sign.

The problem with Breslow and Morris is that they are NOT the last guys in the bullpen. Mattingly uses both of them in close games, either up or down a few runs. If they were in there for mop up long relief after a starter shits his pants (or "Cosarts") then they would be fine. But we've already seen Morris and Breslow come in with runners on base in crucial situations several times.

the changes they've made to the pen so far since opening day will probably result in at least 5 more wins by seasons end (and that may be conservative) than what they would have had running that dumpster fire out there.  Clearly the front office reads and responds to this MB and its pleas for sanity.

5 wins is a big difference between 87 and 92 wins so I really like your thinking. Personally I no doubt want Jackson off this team. Morris I am unsure about. Other than I'm locked and loaded for the pen. Koehler needs to improve big time

Koehler is pitching like Koehler. His bad peripherals have caught up with his results, at least early in the season. I'm sure he'll be acceptable at home, but right now he's our #5 SP
