June 24, 201610 yr I'm in the camp of trading Gordon. I'm more than comfortable with Derek and Rojas. With Jose on an innings limit, Chen's roller coaster season, and a missing back end starter. You gotta at least entertain the idea. Gordon as a conversation starter gets a deal going quick even with the suspension.
June 24, 201610 yr That's because someone on here is feeding them stories. Must be @Admin Dee Gordon's value is too low, I really like what he brings but no sense in trying to dump the contract and get nothing out of it. agreed
June 25, 201610 yr Dee (black) is the only player we have with any kind of value. He hasn't contributed to where the team is now. I'm not a fan of high babip speedsters. It's like they're always 1/2 step from being mediocre. He can't play in the playoffs. We have DD. Good post
June 25, 201610 yr It's not but I'm bored so I'll just be 100% into trading Dee to bait arguments. This is why I've grown to like you.

He (black) has a $50m (million) contract (paper) though...not sure how high his (clack) value is with that (mexican)
June 25, 201610 yr Dee Gordon's value is too low Gordon only had 97 plate appearances before the suspension. Small sample size. His combined WAR for 2014 and 2015 was 7.8. Much bigger sample size. The Marlins desperately need starting pitching. Their window for making the playoffs is very small (kiss Jose goodbye when he hits FA). If someone wants Dee Gordon and we can get a legit #2 or #3 GO FOR IT, a BABY. We haven't made the playoff in 12 years.

Dietrich is more than capable of handling second base at a solid level with the glove. His bat is much better. I am saying that Gordon (black) has a low trade value because of the PED garbage. Many clubs will be hesitant to see how he bounces back. If he does pick up where he left off last year then yes I would definitely trade him when the value is higher and you could pick up #3 starter and have a club pick up a lot of the contract. Whatever the idea I don't think the Marlins are ruling it out. Either now or in the future. Sent from my iPhone using MarlinsBaseball.com mobile app
June 26, 201610 yr Marlins have interest in Liriano per MLB Trade rumors. That is an arm we could get if we pick up the salary on. Sent from my iPhone using MarlinsBaseball.com mobile app

June 26, 201610 yr I don't see us releasing anyone on the active roster or Dee. We'll eat up a contract, that's how we'll get our #5
June 26, 201610 yr Pass on liriano. His arm has a lot of miles on it. And he hasn't looked good this year.
June 26, 201610 yr Not sure what's been talked about because I haven't kept up, but what about making a deal for Ray and Ziegler from Arizona?
June 26, 201610 yr Pass on liriano. His arm has a lot of miles on it. And he hasn't looked good this year. He's a guy worth taking a chance on. When he's on, he's capable of dominating.
June 26, 201610 yr He's a guy worth taking a chance on. When he's on, he's capable of dominating. exactly...and Benedict was a huge reason he turned it around...perhaps not a coincidence he's having his worst year in a while the year benedict leaves
June 26, 201610 yr He's a guy worth taking a chance on. When he's on, he's capable of dominating. Absolutely. But I've seen him a few times this year. And he has the look of someone who's arm may be burned out or injured. Like latos, shields etc
June 26, 201610 yr Absolutely. But I've seen him a few times this year. And he has the look of someone who's arm may be burned out or injured. Like latos, shields etc his velo is where it should be though and he's still striking people out... bb/9 and hr/9 really hurting him so yeah def having command issues
June 26, 201610 yr Thing is, we don't have a farm system so we have to take a chance on a guy. Liriano would be a good candidate because he's done it before.
