2016 Trade Deadline Thread

Featured Replies

This just sets up getting rid of Jose next year, letting Stanton agree to a trade and saying it is necessary to re-stock the farm due to the failed playoff run in 2016 when Cashner and Rea stunk up the joint.

Yeah because I'm sure trading Naylor and Castillo will result in the Marlins blowing it up.

Yeah I was wondering why you weren't angrier about the deal.

I stepped away for a while and had no idea. Thought it was just Naylor/Cosart/Castillo.

Jeez. What the hell, man? Either a.) the Marlins know something about Capps' arm that we don't, or b.) this is the stupidest crap in the history of crap.

B I say

You know it has been awhile and nothing official.....

Maybe we are trading Dee to the Padres now too...

Well, they need to figure that out because Cosart is scheduled to start tomorrow

Why when I first mentioned we would be dealing Capps weeks ago everyone said nobody wants him because of TJ? Now that we trade him, the concern for his recovery is gone? I loved Capps pre-TJ but he is a question mark now and bullpen is deep. Naylor and Castillo are #10 type prospects on most teams. Obviously this was the price for a rental. We overpaid but our team is better now than this morning.

I understand you, and it's entirely possible that other front offices around the league were concerned about Capps' arm, as well, but right now, it seems like we just traded someone who could end up being the best reliever in baseball for Tom Koehler.

I couldn't care less about the prospects we dealt. It's the inclusion of Capps that makes me strongly dislike this deal.

Capps will be fine and brilliant as always It's not his shoulder and rp recovery time after TJ is much better.  This trade is beyond stupid

Like, this Capps-led package probably could have landed someone like Pineda, right?

Anyone remember Hill's face when he gave the presser after trading for Dee? He looked like a hostage who knew he got raped. I bet he'll look even dumber this time
