Yeah dude. Plus, the slider away really only works to its full extent if you have them committing early to an inside 98+ MPH fastball. If you throw everything away it makes your at bat a lot easier to just sit back and poke something to right (a'la Riley's single to right)

I'm old school and once considered myself a traditionalist.  I've come around on a lot of the changes over the years like with interleague games, the wild card spot and many other changes.  However, 2 things that I still despise are these stupid shifts and the WAR "stat".

I'm okay with War to some degree. It's fairly accurate in that the top wars are definitely the top players. But yeah the shifting is super stupid. Does any one have the stats on that? where's the genius of @Nny when you need it?
