My only guess is that they are worried that they might not end up trading a guy and would have to throw some money at a Soler or Joc Peterson to not say the post lockout offseason was not a complete failure.

My fear is they "crush" the farm system but then do a half-ass job on finishing the roster so that we're still a 4th place team and our farm is destroyed.  In other words, this inept organization will fuck it all up

I don't know about "crushing" the farm system tbh. Yea we'd lose a couple top guys but if our farm is so strong we can hold up. I mean it's not like we're sending all of the top 30 prospects. It would crush the top 5 or so.

It's a ridiculous take. This is MLB ready 2022 presumably:

6+ - Meyer, Bleday, Burdick, McCambley
6 years - Sandy, Cabrera, Lewin
5 years - Rogers, Luzardo, Jazz, Sanchez, Garcia, Sixto, Bender, Pop
3 years - Pablo, Hernandez, Stallings, Cooper
2 years - Anderson, Wendle, Rojas

This is basically a full roster for 2 years. Super high end potential with the bolds. Money coming off the books so you can use it to replace others.

In no universe can you argue they can't subtract 3 major prospects and replace with 1 CF, and then spend money and add two more guys to the above.

Did he mention anything about how close any of this is... Seems like nothing is close
