I mean earlier today Mish said they're still working on things and Morosi says they're still in talks with Nick so would be rather abrupt for Mish to bring bad news tonight.

Castellanos is really good. Personally, I'm not worried about home/away splits. It's a question of money. He's 30. 4 years max for a bat only. Probably don't want to go much over $80, $90 tops. I'm sure Boras is shooting for 6/$130 range and that's a big no thanks to me. I don't care if Schwarber got overpaid, that's the price of a DH. I'd spend that kind of money elsewhere for a guy who plays in the field. 4/$88 or something is what I'd do. But, if they did something amazing like get Reynolds/Laureano and bought them over for 6 years cheap.... maybe you go 5/$100 or so just to get your guy. Mitigate more money to Nick, with getting less money on a long term CF/OF.

Payroll moving forward looks great. This wouldn't cripple any rebuild. They are spending so little money anything they do doesn't impact payroll. Only Correa would do that.

If Bruce isn't willing to spend $90m with THIS team, this is the truth. I'll give him the Correa benefit of the doubt, but not $90m.

Mish doesn't think they are gonna get a closer at least until after they have added an offensive piece. Thinks that the execution has been poor and that we have the right to be frustrated.

He's basically saying yes they're still trying and can still get something done but says the frustration is warranted because they still haven't accomplished their goals and time is running out.

So yea be frustrated but know that they haven't stopped trying. 

Also says players in the clubhouse are just as frustrated. 

Also he's explaining that after last summer's misstep he's no longer posting rumors and speculation and so don't take his silence or lack of posts for meaning anything about them not working, it's just that he will only report concrete news.

He doesn't want to say too much and possibly compromise a deal. I would rather get no rumors and get the news when they happen than lose a trade or signing.

so basically he learned his fucking lesson that if you actually want to be credible, you report real news not just what you might hear in passing whispers.

Glad to see he has decided to take this approach and not the boy that cried wolf approach.
