May 8, 20224 yr There’s this guy in the minor leagues…his name is Max Meyer. Maybe he can close since we apparently have no interest in taking the great Elieser Hernandez out of the rotation.
May 8, 20224 yr Author That was Sulser's 14th slider he's thrown this year. 14th. Coming into this game, he had thrown 189 pitches total. 94 fastballs, 81 changeups. STICK WITH THOSE.

May 8, 20224 yr Really thought they had this one. Oh well. This is a sub 500 team. This kind of poetic heart break is going to keep happening. Just wait until Jazz gets sick of being here and that becomes a problem. Stop investing your energy in this -- you all deserve better. Look at this person... And this person... They don't care about you. Win or lose. They win. Even if Ng get fired...she has already leveled up...she gets a job on a board or running a non-profit or some shit. Go read a book or work out. This is not healthy for any of us. And don't worry...you aren't a bandwagoner or follower coming back when they start to do well...because that is made up imaginary incel school yard bullshit.
May 8, 20224 yr At least fire Mattingly. Show the team and fans that they give a s***. This guy has NEVER been good as a manager, yet has managed to stay on the Marlins for 7 years? When do we ever have a manager this long? Good grief. Edited May 8, 20224 yr by jsprt14
May 8, 20224 yr Cant sign legit bullpen guys when you have no budget to spend from the Front Office. The money for Soler only came to spite Jeter from Sherman after all those reports. Not really sure how Ng was supposed to sign bullpen arms with no money, especially in this day and age of MLB. *shrugs*

Not elite, but more than good enough IF THEY ARE USED CORRECTLY AND PUT IN POSITIONS TO SUCCEED.

They could still have used a legit back end type guy, tbh. then you just slot in guys where they should based on matchups. But well Don isnt good at that whole bullpen thing. Proven time and again for what? 15 years now?

Most of the time spending big on bullpens is a bad investment anyway. Look at the Cardinals — they build it from within or minor trades.
May 9, 20224 yr that pitch was the worst thing I've ever seen. What a gut-breaking loss. Just brutal. Talk about a momentum swing too. I don't even know how this gets fixed. and figures it would be Alfaro. If he could hit anything at all with Miami they'd have probably kept him around. And yet.

May 9, 20224 yr Eh this team's broken. Mattingly needs to be fired if they can't get back to 500 within the next few weeks.

Wake the team up and show them poor performance won't due. I'm all for patience and not having a kneejerk reaction to things, but we've known for years that Don is not the guy that's going to get us to competitiveness.
May 9, 20224 yr It's amazing how the team's faults/problems and the various FA and trade targets to address those issues were clearly evident and identifiable to everyone with eyes prior to the offseason........seemingly everyone except the FO. Edited May 9, 20224 yr by rmc523
May 9, 20224 yr Torborg was fired May 12th, 2003 and the team rebounded to win it all.... Fire Don now... not saying WS this time around, but change is needed sooner and not later

Shouldn't have been renewed but when they picked up his option, they said on the broadcast, "now that's something that doesn't have to be worried about for next year." It's become clear that had his option not been picked up, we probably would have entered the season without a manager because they would have been trying to focus on center field. Lol

Lol Yeah, I doubt they fire him on a west coast road trip.... but the minute he enters Florida, wham-o!!!
