I have a feeling that maybe when Bendix was hired for the job he probably told the Marlins owners that he could make the Marlins a playoff team with minimal salary costs and increase the owners revenue and he will use his advanced Sabermetrics knowledge(He literally studied Sabermetrics at University) to help do it.

Maybe the owners liked the sound of that because which business owners wouldn’t want to spend very little money on business costs and increase profits?

Of course I have no idea what they talk about I’m just speculating here based on the moves we are seeing unfold in front of us. 😂

Herald confirms what some of us assumed, Skip wanted the freedom to hit the market due to the change from Ng to Benfix and Sherman voided the option to accommodate him on that.

Yes, the team is bad, the roster is flawed, the owner is a piece of shit, and the President is a punchable douche bag. 

However,  Skip is a no non-sense type of guy and his coaching staff is pretty good. They aren't the problem.  I'll add that I'm not a huge fan of Skip either.  His lineups are questionable,  and he obsession with position flexibility and platooning every left handed batter is infuriating to me. Fair, is fair, however.  His team respects him.

Called it.  Good for him to admit his mistake and correct it.  When someone has an ex to grind (both he and his father were fired by previous Marlins FO), you have to take what they say with a grain of salt and double check their claims.

The Marlins have enough problems already.  No need to invent more.

Glad there's some clarification, I guess it's respectable that Sherman didn't force him to stay, but it still sends that bad message that Skip wants out.

I wish I could know if it was more about Skip really wanting to stick with Kim or if Skip heard the Bendix plan and wanted nothing to do with it. Kim isn't the only good GM out there so I gotta believe Skip gave Bendix a chance before making this decision so it can't be good.

Yep it's gonna be Don's last season again just two years later. Guys know he's bolting afterward and they'll probably be eager to go somewhere that isn't run by a dirtbag owner as well. With Kapler coming in next season (or maybe even later this aeason) I'm assuming he'll want "his guys" in place too for the staff. More overturn. Yet another "new batting approach" most likely. Just absolutely no consistency at all in this org. It's gotta play havoc on the younger kids especially. It has to feel like the inmates are running the asylum.

Smart move would be to let Skip walk now if he wants to but you know Bruce wants to get full value of that contract and all. 

Another thing too... if you have turnover after a certain amount of time, a lot of the players will have changed and to them it's not as crazy as it is to us fans. But with the Marlins there's several guys on the roster who have been here through Jeter, Kim, Bendix, Donnie, Skip, and the next guy... etc etc... so this has to wear on them because you can't fool them at this point. Those players are gonna be so skeptical. This is just awful for team morale.

At home games the visiting team takes batting practice last.. the home team takes batting practice first before the gates are even open for fans to come in.

So of course when the visiting team is taking their batting practice the Marlins are not going to be on the field. Duh!

 

That original post implied that Eduardo Perez was privy to some behind the scenes view of the teams practices. When in reality he probably just bought a regular ticket and by the time he showed up to the game and walked in the stadium and went to his seat the Angels were taking their batting practice and of course he wouldn’t see any Marlins players on the field.

 

Eduardo Perez was a MLB player he should know about how BP works.. unless he was just trying to be provocative and stir up some drama. 😂
