I’ve said in other threads, I’ll just quit baseball altogether than root for another team.

ill shift to a more bandwagon type following as far as actually supporting them goes.

out of over a decade of habit, ill likely still follow the rumors and will still post here, but I just find it incredibly hard to care.

i mentioned in the other thread that I’ve been in the process of painting over some old Marlins-themed walls and moves like this plus the offseason make me not regret doing it.

This is how I feel. I cant bring myself to root for another team (being from Chicago I hate the Cubs and switching to the Sox isn't an option with Reinsdorf already ruining the Bulls for me.)

I got free mlb tv from tmobile again this year but I have yet to watch any game after opening day. I just check the box scores.

I just can’t do it. I’m afraid I’m stuck until they take the team away. 

I've got too much in my life going on (both positive and negative) that it's super easy to look away from this team now. And if they're not giving me any reason to look at them then it's even easier so I'm just done. I'll be on here like a masochist and I'll get final score notifications on my phone but I'm not wasting time or energy on this shit anymore until they actually prove worthy of it. I won't even miss them really. It's just not rewarding, it's like why bother putting myself through this hell for nothing? It's just negativity after negativity. Fuck it.

I need to focus on other things in my life as it is, so no matter how much it pains me.. I need to stop paying close attention to this team.

I watch them too but don’t know enough about hockey to know who’s good, etc.  

I also don’t know if I want to devote time to another team like I follow the marlins.

More like done with baseball

My last post, professional sports organization shouldn't have this kind of owners, they would only damage the industry, only share the profits and never make contributions to it. It's not the case they would win or not but the case they would spend or not, without spending no winning team is sustainable and it's why “money ball ” teams lacking the fan support even winning. 

I believe none of us can't live without this team.

They did man…not even ONE top 5 prospect from their system. Why? They have a logjam of shortstops on that team, we couldn’t get ONE back? The prospects all look like shit. 

I've been done for a while; this is basically an abusive relationship at this point.

Meh i wouldn’t rate a trade based on prospect rankings. We have seen top prospects fail countless times. 

Guys I’m telling you as a guy who went from Marlins to Red Sox, it’s SO much easier than you guys think. As I’ve said I grew up in a house that rooted for The Braves (my dads team) the Red Sox (grandpa) and the Marlins (for no reason other than the hometown team) but the Marlins were the only team I TRULY cared for. At least until the new ownership that was supposed to save this team traded our entire team for what has become only Sandy and unfortunately Chisholm, as a return.

Just pick a team, follow them the rest of this season and watch ALL their games, and by the end of the season you’re a fan believe me. I haven’t watched a Marlins game in years (even last year) but I watch every Red Sox game. They develop their prospects, the chips they get back in trades produce, they sign players when they need them, they have a plan that they actually execute and they always find a way to compete in the toughest division in baseball. It’s literally been like getting out of an abusive relationship and marrying a firefighter that loves me and the kids 😂

Dumping this joke and embarassment of a franchise was such a liberating thing to do.

 

Akin to leaving the woman who was mentally abusing you and leaving you feeling trapped.

 

Its like the world got brighter and more hopeful all at once.

No thanks.  I don't like baseball that much - I'll just leave the sport altogether.  Why would I devote time/effort to some random team hundreds or thousands of miles away that I have zero attachment to or history with?  They're not the local team you can run down to see (or that you grew up watching), and I've never watched them before.

Hey!  At least something positive came out of this trade!

If only the team coming to Vegas wasn't a worse owner and FO than the Marlins. I'm still praying it all breaks down gloriously and Vegas gets an expansion team so I can be done with this one.

I canceled my Bally Sports+ subscription today. It was especially easy because they aren’t broadcasting any more of the Panthers playoff games.

I encourage anyone else with that subscription to do the same.
