Hearing him now for the first time besides the clips on MLB.com this weekend. He's pretty decent, I think I'd like him if I got to hear him all the time.

Lowell has looked a little better here recently, if he can really bust out of the slump and have a typical first half of his in the second half, be an All Star-type hitter it will help this team tremendously. But if he's not going to do that, from a baseball standpoint it's stupid to not use a better option (trade, bench) if we've got one.

They switch to ESPN News on the channel the game would have been on and we get the local NESN broadcast. I wasn't at all surprised that Schill got taken deep. After all...I almost caught a homer hit off him by Wilton Guerrero (!) in AAA a couple weeks ago. It was his first game back. We'll see how things go from here.

They said during the game he's got fastball, slider, changeup. Fastball looks to be in the 91-92 range (so set Velocity at 90--that's what I've got). Decent control of all his pitches. His changeup looked sick in the game tonight. I don't know what its velocity was but he made people look pretty silly with it. Don't recall seeing a slider in the inning he pitched.
