Everybody wondered who the leader of this team would be now that Miggy and Dontrelle were gone? Meet Mike Jacobs. Having Gonzo and Hendrickson as elder leadership is great and all, but it has to come from one of the young guys. Someone just like Uggla and Ramirez and Hermida who is the future of this team and is going to back it up for years to come. I think Mike so far has established himself as that guy and I truly hope he can continue to be the rallying cry for this team. It seems that while Miggy is a great player, not that much of a leader. I do believe these guys are individually and collectively able to create an atmosphere of confidence. I go game to game, realism will not get in the way of my optimism, or just my joy for the game. Right now, the optimism is being matched by the production, so it is really fun. Is it just me, probably not, but while the guys are now "veterans" who could really start believing, I always keep thinking that next year they could be gone. Will our ownership pay all our arbitration eligible players to keep this thing going, with the pitching destined to also keep getting better next year, or are we doomed to rebuild for 2011 and the opening of the stadium. Sobering thoughts-I can't just blindly accept "enjoy the moment" as Wayne once said. WEll, we can only hope that this early run becomes a reality and then see what happens.

Rabelo was not impressive at all in rehab. I hope at least his defense is pretty good. Hoover did allright in a short stint, going 3-7 with a double Hoover also did a terrible job, defensively. Passed balls galore, and it seemed like the games we got blown out in, were the ones he was back there, calling. Call it a coincidence, or whatever, you'd like. Rabelo isn't great, but he's better than Hoover, that's for sure. The correlation is there, but I would not scientifically approve the theory over the fact that it was poor pitching.

I have to wonder if Admin stressing to learn the changeup is such a good idea. At the minor league level it's fine. But to try to learn it here as an out pitch, or even as another pitch, isn't the place. When a pitcher knows how to use it, it is a great pitch. When he isn't comfortable with it they tend to leave it up in the zone way too much and that's a recipe for disaster. It might be a better idea to let these kids do what got them here and work on other things when the time allows it. By no means am I going into anything even remotely mirroring panic mode just three games into the season. It's just a random thought. If you really don't like what the Loria ownership is doing in terms of payroll v. revenue, stop supporting the team. Don't go to games. Don't watch them on TV. Don't do anything that will assist them in making money. Because baseball and sports is not like disliking the food at a restaurant. You can always go eat a pizza somewhere else. If someone here loves the game but dislikes the owner, why must it be in terms of, "if you don't like it don't go". It is much more credible for those who don't like Loria to actually say so and yet still go to the games. You can't have it both ways because it is clear how the argument is being stacked. If they followed your advice then you would discredit them by saying, "how could you blame the owner, you don't even support the team with your money and you want him to spend it on the team for your pleasure, and you don't even care enough to go".

You can never assume a double play, agreed, but for the fact the batter was Cabrera, although younger and 100 pounds lighter than last year, I would place my bets on it being turned. Why do we have so many dance teams? Seriously? Like 4? Are we paying these guys? If so, that's a joke, that we can only spend 17 million on the team, yet we have enough money for all these dance teams. MOST baseball teams don't even have cheerleaders [Mermaids]. If they are the Mermsids presented by Hollywood Race Track then the race track is paying for an advertisement everyfew innings. Not sure on thus, but I don't think the Heat Dancers are officially sponsored by the same company every game, leading me to think the Heat pay them. Anyone know for sure on this? By the way, you're crazy if you get a stadium dog instead of going to the Kosher stand. Suuuuch better quality. They had the Hebrew National at all the stands in the 100 level, I did not see any of the Oscar Meyer grey colored, tasteless doo doo dogs.

I will listen to espn on my computer, cant pick up 1400 in my office, just for baseball talk, but on this board we will definitely feel the baseball talk is lacking here because we are baseball fans and there is not enough of it. And how terrible is that Dolphin show on 560-coma inducing. Sid knows baseball, but he is just intolerable-likes to think he is also a talk show star when he interviews nonbaseball people. I don't think I can take more than 5 minutes of him at a time and as soon as he starts talking about his friends from the Soprano's then that is it. Zaslow actually has a very good knowledge of baseball and the Marlins-he won't make dumb comments about the team. I have spoken with him at length in person about the team, the management and the players. He just does not get enough calls to make a show out of it and doesn't try to make it a baseball show.

I KNOW I HAVE TO GIVE A DEPOSIT FOR SEASON TICKET BUT HOW DO I PAY THE REST IS IT A MONTHLEY PAYMENT OR ALL AT ONE TIME? AT this time of the year, I would think you will have to pay in full for whatever package you purchase. Your best bet is to call the marlins.
