If someone is screaming and cursing at you I don't have a problem if you kick his ass. I wouldn't recommend it but have no problem with it if you do it. If the boss asks, and according to Chacon, it was asked, to come with him to the office so he can speak with you-you know what-you get up and go with him. Sounds like Wade was asking him to come with him to discuss his demotion in private. Chacon disrespects his boss and now is telling him what to do, where to speak with him and how. Probably because he thinks since he makes a lot of money and is the young stud, he does not have to listen to his boss. Wade is not a man of the cloth, as a man involved in sports, he has an ego and he was openly challenged-the difference is he starts yelling-so Chacon can do the same if he wishes-like a manager screaming and cursing with the umpire. You think the ump should grab the manager and throw him down? Instead his response is violent, because that is the way to be a "man". He could have killed him, but the act would be the same-would you defend it. "It's ok to kill the guy, he was yelling at me, and that is not allowed". If Wade went to strike him, sure, otherwise, get in his face-otherwise, maybe if Wade was the same age and just as big as Chacon, Chacon probably isn't as tough. Look, I agree, just because someone is a boss and someone works for you, does not give the boss the right to be disrespectful. But to jump him, grab him by the throat and throw him to the ground, then get on top of a much older man is not something easily defended especially since Chacon seemed to instigate it.

I actually think the opposite is true. A terrorist attack would help Obama, because it would show that the Republican policies of the last eight years have failed. I'm not really sure Americans would think Republicans would be better in the war against terror (as if there is such a thing) after they failed to protect America having controlled policy for the last eight years. Prin, respectfully, it would not prove anything other than our enemies will always have the ability to try or even succeed in an attack. No policies would have been 100% effective, whether it was Bush or if Gore/Kerry would have been at the top. We do know that 9/11 was well planned in advance of Bush winning, meaning the policies of the Clinton administration and the passiveness could be blamed. We also can never tell if the policies of the past 8 years, while not creating "world peace" prevented attacks in our Country such as those in England and Spain and other countries. So please, give this average Joe credit for having intelligence but a different opinion. Frankly, I would not make any judgement regarding the policies if there was another attack. We know these attacks have been planned through many administrations-many of them thwarted because of the policies. One thing about terrorists (not militants, not activists, not freedom fighters-save those labels to be used only by the murderers of children who then cheer and pass out candy), they always have convenient built in "reasons" of justification for anything they do-warped as these may be. We should not judge our democracy by the rhetoric and ramblings of others. They will blow your brains out and claim to be the victims of policy and the intelligensia of Europe will shake their heads in agreement. Too bad we just can't give away Checkoslovakia again.

BTW... Anyone think Waechter being extended today is a sign of a role swap between him and Hendrickson? I am open for anything.

We have really just given a number of games away and it is not always an error. Recently, there were two games where the double play was not turned in the 9th inning. One when Cantu hesistated, I think Atlanta, and then we lost. The other where Hanley could not get a good grip. Or the pop up in the 8th on Friday that was not caught. These are not errors in the box, but they are the same to me, plays that should have or could have been made that cost a game.

I don't care if Rich and Tommy are the best or not, I love the job they do and would not want to have things be any different. To me, Tommy is as familiar as a friend, he puts things frankly and is passionate about the team. Rich provides an atmosphere of fun that makes watching the Marlins fun. I like the Cubs WGN announcers, but nearly every other team broadcast crew is pretty horrid (especially the White Sox, Braves, and Rays). Perfectly said. Tommy and Rich are just such an easy listen and jack it up when appropriate. I really enjoy them. Personally, I was never a Joe Angel fan, although I didn't dislike him-a real professional. I can never forget the totally anticlimatic call on Renteria's hit in game 7-just bad, I always wished that it was Davey's inning to call. DVH was not much better on the final out in 03, but the play itself in 97 was set up for a much more exciting call. Hey, Costas call in 97 was also terrible-like he was disappointed the Marlins won-but that is a different topic. Fortunately, I was at both games so I listened to all of this post game.

Nowadays with MLB Extra Innings package and MLB.tv, A move to Pennsylvania really wouldn't take that big of a toll on your Marlin fanhood. Depending on what part of the state you live in, you can see them when they visit either the Phillies or the Pirates--or both, for that matter. Plus, you'd get to watch all the games on TV/computer. I would imagine watching games on a tiny computer screen would kinda suck, though. It would except if you are home, you hook up the computer to the tv monitor through the input and viola, big screen marlins getting the video stream.

We have Dan Uggla and Wes Helms on the bench....and Fredi sends in Robert Andino. Yeah, it may have not made a big difference, but its still a really stupid move no matter how you look at it. Andino should only play if he's the last person available. Every time I see Andino being brought up I figure it's to showcase him for a trade. Too bad he can't figure out ML pitching enough to help himself out. Nothing changes with Andino, just keeps striking out. Hey, it can't be just me, we have a lot of people on this board who played ball at high levels- Andino drops that back foot and slides it back and to the side when he swings. It's almost like he is partially stepping out. 15K's in 23 AB this year. Just watch him, I hope do not get too many more chances-the good hitters keep that back foot planted.

I CAN'T EXPRESS MY APPRECIATION AND EXCITEMENT FOR THIS TEAM LIKE SANE PEOPLE SO I HOLD UP SIGNS INSTEAD! I sat next to sign guy once, he is really kinda creepy. The guy never talks, just spends all game going through his signs, then he holds up the sign after something happens and shows no emotion or says anything. He gets into his "character". I just wonder if that is what he is like at home-you know, holds signs up, like "goodnight" to his wife or practices during away games while watching on tv.

Cantu's not going to make it. They don't LOOK for defense...but you don't have to LOOK to know how horrendous Cantu has been playing at third-base. It's a well-known fact that he can't field. He makes Cabrera look like Brooks Robinson. Offensive numbers are close, but no cigar. A-Ram has the better numbers right now, so he'd get the #2 slot for 3B. Wright is a Met, which means he is overrated...and will most likely get the edge over Jorge Cantu (who?). He makes Cabrera look like, well Cabrera-nothing else. Heck, there are some balls Jorge gets to that he just happens to throw into the stands while Miggy would just stand there and watch the ball go by him into the outfield. While not an error, sure has the same result.

Phillies fans are talking of how the Marlins should be contracted, how the Phillies simply failed to hit the "batting practice" pitches thrown by our garbage pitchers, or how the Phillies let this game get away. If the Marlins don't commit those errors, the game isn't even close. They got spanked pretty hard. The rest of the series will be tougher though, because Meyers sucks and we finally got to him. Another "my kid has perfect attendance" attitude although the loser fleas have one, we all know it ONE world championship. Oh, on point, the front running fleas fans attendance was less than 20,000 as recent as 2002. So, now they have a new park and a winning team and a large payroll, so they show up, except not the ones making the comments because they probably live down here and add nothing to the philly attendance or their new "home" team, except when the fleas come down.

I've got a question for you Miamiians. I'm going to see Modest Mouse on June 23 at the Jackie Gleason Theater which is from all I know on Miami Beach and I know nothing else about how driving there and parking works. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Basically, there is a parking shortage now because lots that were used across the street are now under construction for a parking garage. There is a garage just south of the building, across the street, where it is 17th street, and I think I saw the sign the other day, $4 for up to 4 hours and over 4 hours it is flat $15. There is an open lot next to the garage, east of it, that is a flat $15, that is where I parked for a concert because we got there early and the exit was right there. There are some lots south of Lincoln road, but I do not think it is cheaper, and there are metered spots all over but I do not know what the meters have as a maximum time. There should be parking on the west side of the theater behind it and behind the convention center also.

Cantu provides entertainment, especially on the road, watching the fans in the seats behind first base praying for their lives.

He is currently hitting in 197 AB, .254/.359/.447 (.806) with 9 HR, 31/73 BB/K, and 13/2 SB. He is obliterating lefties (.980 OPS) and struggling a bit more against righties (.741 OPS, 59 of the K). He also does not like to hit at home (home .700 OPS, away .898). In April he hit in 89 AB, .225/.367/.371 (.738), 3 HR, 19/37 BB/K, 5/2 SB In May he hit in 104 AB, .260/.339/.442 (.781), 4 HR, 12/35 BB/K, 8/0 SB Yesterday, he was 3/4, 2 HR, K Overall, this is great for a 21 year old first time in double AA. We don't need to be taking jabs at him for the strikeouts. It is the first time he has ever seen real breaking pitches, and it is totally normal. Things are looking good even if we don't see him with the big club in 2008. It's only a matter of time. Jay Bruce is also 21, so age is not the prime factor. No jab at him, I can wait for him to develop and he could be all that is expected of him. It is just a fact that currently he is striking out a lot. Your lefty/righty split info is very interesting. The only question there, and I can look it up, is how many of his 197 AB is against lefties. That would create a better picture of his success against them.

I said it a month ago (maybe 3 weeks) that I am more comfortable with Ross, even hitting what he was, than Amezaga. At the plate, you know Cody has a chance to hit while I am always negative with Amezaga at the plate, especially in an important situation. Cody has made the new fan club proud.
