  2. Marlins' Gardner goes on disabled list Posted on Fri, Apr. 18, 2008 BY CLARK SPENCER cspencer@MiamiHerald.com The Marlins have placed right-handed reliever Lee Gardner on the 15-day disabled list with elbow inflammation. Taking Gardner's place on the roster is right-handed pitcher Doug Waechter, who was selected from Triple A Albuquerque. The Marlins transferred right-handed pitcher Sergio Mitre to the 60-day disabled list.
  3. This game is not gonna help me wake up tomorrow.
  4. Can you say over react? my goodness people, one bad start.....
  5. PBP: First place fun, likely fleeting http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/conten...eorge_0416.html Herald: Marlins are a feel-good story so far http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/story/497501.html Why does the PBP hate the Marlins? I mean really, is there any need right now to write an article about how much the Marlins will suck? It's like the guy's pissed the Fish are in first and can't wait for them to loose.
  6. Anyone else having trouble with MLB TV? yes

  8. It will be a shame if CO megers with UA. CO is the last of the quality legacy carriers.
  9. Pretty stupid. Why can't white people commend the job that Jackie did? He was a brave and courageous man that helped ALL OF AMERICA become integrated and more understanding. Why can't whites celebrate his bravery to stand up and help us ALL have a better future? Abe Lincoln was white and helped free the slaves. Should blacks not be allowed to celebrate him because he is white? Heroes are heroes regardless of their skin color. Jackie was a great American and all American's should be allowed to celebrate what he did .
  10. Why do people care so much about Sports radio? Seriously, who cares what one guy has to say? Which is why the LeBetard show is awesome. They know no one should care about what they say and they do it well! Its just sports, bro, get over it! There are far more important things in life to worry about than whether a sports radio guy on SUNDAY NIGHT no less knows the difference between clutch and OPS. +1 The whole premise of the show is how meaningless spots is and how stupid pukey sports radio is. Just have fun with sports and worry about more important things.
  11. Knocking fools out.
  12. Sean West: 2.2ip 2h 2r(0er) 5bb k at Jupiter Great to see that he's back!
  13. JJ PUTZ JJ PUTZ JJ PUTZ JJ PUTZ JJ PUTZ So you came here now?
  14. It was horrifying watching him pitch on Baseball Tonight. His first pitch was a mile outside and he was not anywhere near the plate. His delivery is awful. It's mechanical and has absolutely no flow to it what so ever. He?s trying to guide the ball in. Also, he's put on a fair amount of weight. I think he could use a stint on the DL because he looked nowhere near ready to pitch. He's less than a shadow of his former self.
  15. Before the injury: Walked the only 2 batters he faced. He's been awful, just awful.
  16. Who actually watches that garbage?
  17. Hammer +2 run differencial that last inning. without him it's a 4-3 loss.
  18. Don't forget about Carlos Martinez, who has looked good at AA so far this year.
  19. I feel pretty confident in saying that his next start will be much better than anything RVH would have given us. Very excited for the HOU series. Can't wait to see how Nolasco and Badenhop do. Also, it will be an important start for Miller. I think it will be fair to assess how good this team can be after the Astros series. If Nolasco and Badenhop step up, I think things will be pretty ok. By the way, it was nice to see some optimism in the Herald Wednesday: Jeremy Hermida is back. That sentence might be one of the more telling statements about the 2008 Marlins. Hermida missed the first week of the season because of a hamstring injury and will join the team Wednesday. He was missed, but when Hermida takes his place in right field and slides back into the third spot in the batting order, he will be joining a team that is 4-3. A 4-3 record with a starting rotation that has struggled. The Marlins have won because the bullpen has been as good as advertised, because Hanley Ramirez (.440, two homers, five RBI) is one of the top players in the game and because this team is deeper and better than last year.
  20. According to the post game show. Hermida likley back on Wed.
  21. They did a voice over edit for the next sportscenter Original: "His First Career Homer", "Welcome to thr Big Leagues Kid" Revised: "First Career Walk off", "His Forty-Ninth Career Homer" It was pretty funny though, I was like wow they actually choose a Marlins walk-off for the top ten. Then I was like wtf is she talking about?
  22. Andino's first HR is one to remember By Juan C. Rodriguez | South Florida Sun-Sentinel 12:21 AM EDT, April 2, 2008 MIAMI GARDENS - A remnant streak of celebratory shaving cream pie was the lone indication on Robert Andino's face he'd just experienced a signature major league moment. Andino hastily dressed at his locker moments after his first career homer propelled the Marlins to a 5-4, 10-inning win over the Mets at Dolphin Stadium Tuesday. The revelry ended as soon as he saw the text messages from his wife, Renee. A man knocked at the door of Andino's south Miami-Dade County home while Renee was on the phone. He repeatedly requested entry, but would not identify himself, saying only, "It's me." According to an early account of the episode that made its way back to Dolphin Stadium, the man ultimately tried to force his way in but left when police arrived. The couple's two children, Taj (4) and Alijah (23 months), were presumed to be in the house as well. Adding to Andino's anxiety is that he's from the same neighborhood as Sean Taylor, the former University of Miami and Washington Redskins safety who last year was killed after confronting would-be robbers in his home. A product of Miami Southridge High School, Andino knew Taylor and attended his memorial at Florida International University. The tragedy so shook him that during spring training Andino talked about contemplating a move out of the area. "I don't like it anymore," Andino said, last month. "I've got my kids. Miami is getting too bad. It's crazy." If not for Alejandro De Aza sustaining a high ankle sprain the last inning of the last exhibition game Saturday, Andino would have been playing for the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes against New Mexico Tuesday night. Thankfully for both his family and the Marlins he was home. Andino entered the game in the top of the 10th at third as part of a defensive substitution. He came up in the bottom half and worked a 2-1 count off Matt Wise before drilling a hanging breaking ball over the American League scoreboard in left. Andino's his first career homer kept the Marlins from starting 0-2 for the seventh time in franchise history. "I'm just as happy for him as he is," said catcher Paul Hoover, Andino's Isotopes teammate for most of the last two seasons. "He's behind one of the best shortstops in the game, so it's tough for him to break through? It's good to see he got the opportunity and did something with it." http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basebal...2,0,88979.story
  23. Finally MLB.TV is back up.... It's so damn annoying having games blacked out in Orlando when f***en Brighthouse won't carry FSN..... ugh.
  24. Too lasy to post the link, but the papers are now reporting that it will be Carroll and that Gomez has been told he'll begin in AAA.
  25. I believe Josh Freedman will continue to to a show Sat. afternoons. Also from Barry Jackson's article: Manager Fredi Gonzalez agreed to do a weekly show with Sedano that will air 11 a.m. next Wednesday and 1 p.m. all subsequent Wednesdays (when Sedano's show switches time slots). Marlins executives Admin Beinfest and Michael Hill will alternate on a weekly segment with Sid Rosenberg at 8:30 a.m. Mondays.
