  1. Im not sure if this would be the right place to put this sorry if it isnt but the end of the story is kinda cool... Anyway, this was my first time at Yankee Stadium which is kind of weird since I live in NY. I drove about 3 hours down to get there in the way back of a suv where it is really uncomfortable. I went with 5 Yankee fans and a Met fan so I had to hear their bs the whole way down. Our seats were up in the tier on the 3b side between home and 3rd. These are actually really good tickets, you can see the whole field and a nice view of the city over the white fence in the OF. Yankee stadium is amazing, I think every one should try to see a game there before its gone. It was a great game but those errors in the 1st killed us. No one said anything to me about my Marlins hat but it may have been a different story if we won. When Mariano came out it was sick. As soon as they started playing Enter Sandman the place went crazy even with only half of the crowd that stayed through the rain. Ive never seen anything like it. On the way home one of my friends cars broke down right before the rest stop so we had to coast there. While we are eating some older guy comes up to us and asks if we were at the game. He says he was sitting on the Marlins side down by the field where all the Marlins executives were sitting and there was this one Yankee fan that kept yelling sh*t to the Marlins the entire game. So finally one of the Marlins guys gets up walks right up to the guy and says, if the Yankees are so good then why the f*ck dont they have this ring as*hole, showing him the 2003 World Series ring. Thats crazy, I guess the fan shut up after that. Then we had to find a place to leave my friends car but it wouldnt go above 20 mph. And to top it off we got lost and didnt get home until 4am. Over all it was great and I'll be there again on Sunday.
  2. I'll be there Friday night and Sunday.
  3. No need to rush Sanchez, if he keeps it up then move him to AAA. Right now I like how our rotation looks. Everyone is doing a damn good job including Moe. If anything I'd like to see Pinto back up here later in the season.
  4. Shouldnt I still be able to get this on MLB.TV since its still on a Toranto tv station? Yep i'm watching it on mlb.tv now Two nice plays by Uggla for the first two outs I dont understand...it wont let me watch it. It says "We're sorry! Your data indicate that you are prevented from watching this game LIVE due to national live broadcast restrictions." wtf
  5. Shouldnt I still be able to get this on MLB.TV since its still on a Toranto tv station?
  6. Its good to see DeAza's starting to pick it up, and Campusano still doing good. Anyone know if he's improved his fielding any? Hopefully they can get a shot for CF in the bigs sometime soon.
  7. I like Olsen the best. He needs to work some things out and when ever Dontrelle leaves he will become the ace. JJ is a beast, Im lovin what he's doin right now. I like Nolasco but just not as much as the other 2. I wanna see what Sanchez can do. Johnson Olsen and Sanchez can all battle for the #1 spot if Trelle ever has to leave, but I hope he never does. I also wanna see more of Pinto if he can cut down on the BB. We're gonna have a sick rotation for years to come.
  8. Its official Johnson has the best ERA in baseball
  9. Young arms offer significant value Veteran stats available for rookie salaries on PROTRADE By Jeffrey Ma / Special to MLB.com Francisco Liriano's ability to miss bats has sparked comparisons to fellow Twin Johan Santana. (AP) MLB Headlines In 1984, a 21-year-old Roger Clemens won nine games and pitched 133 innings, posting a 4.32 ERA. Last year, he won 13, and his ERA was just 1.87. Go figure. 2005: The year of the old gun. Clemens' comeback notwithstanding, 2006 has been all about young guns. We're seeing some of the best rookie pitching performances in recent memory. Sometimes, the hype is true. That arm doesn't always need 20 years of seasoning. Meet six very likely household names of baseball's future. Scott Kazmir, 22 Last year, Kazmir finished ninth in American League Rookie of the Year voting with a single third-place vote. Now, he's the lead candidate for the "Most Lopsided Trade in History" contest, coming to the Mets in exchange for Victor Zambrano, who is out for the season with a torn flexor tendon in his right elbow. Victor who? In May, Kazmir went 4-1 with a 1.91 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 33 innings. Yes, that's 38 Ks in 33 innings. Right now, he ranks third in the Majors with 80 strikeouts on the year. More micro, in three '06 starts against the vaunted Boston Red Sox lineup, he's 2-1 with a 3.50 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP, striking out 23 batters in just 18 innings. Note to traders: The buying window is closed. That's unless you're taking a very long-term view. Kazmir's moneyball salary numbers tell the story. If Kazmir were actually traded on a real, open labor market, he'd be worth $11 million this year. Francisco Liriano, 22 Not exactly Mini-Me to team ace Johan Santana, Francisco Liriano is still lights-out. Since being moved from the bullpen to the Twins rotation, Liriano is 4-1 with a 1.24 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP, with 24 strikeouts in 29 innings. In two of those five starts, he allowed just a single hit, but the Twins are limiting his pitches to keep from wearing out his arm. Here's another great stat for the wonder child: Liriano has allowed just one home run in over 50 innings of work. The irony, of course, is that he came to Minnesota from the Giants as a throw-in in a deal that sent A.J. Pierzynski to San Francisco and Liriano, Joe Nathan and Boof Bonser to the Twin Cities. According to PROTRADE moneyball salary analysis, Liriano is the second-most underpaid pitcher in the Majors, trailing Diamondbacks right-hander Brandon Webb. Jonathan Papelbon, 25 In over 30 innings this season, Papelbon has allowed just one run. In 29 of the 30, he allowed just one hit or walk, and Papelbon is 20-for-21 in save opportunities, earning a win in the only one he blew. It's anyone's guess if this former starter may return to that role in future seasons. According to moneyball, he's earning near the league minimum and performing at the $10 million mark. It's only a matter of time. Josh Johnson, 22 Here's somewhat of a sleeper with as good a set of numbers as anyone in baseball and a lot less press. Since being moved into the Marlins' rotation, Johnson is 3-2 with a 1.65 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP, striking out 37 batters in 43 2/3 innings. In any single start, Johnson has not allowed more than seven hits or three runs. Of course, his team isn't exactly helping in the defense and run support categories, conceding five unearned runs in his seven starts. The Marlins have also scored just one run in each of this last two starts. And, yes, the moneyball knows and the moneyball shows. Johnson is earning a bottom-dwelling Major League salary, yet he's performing at a level that, in a just world, would earn him a cool $8 million this year. Cole Hamels, 22 Hamels hit the disabled list after his first two Major League appearances, but he bounced back with his first career win upon returning. So far in four starts in the bigs, he's allowed 15 hits in 22 innings, struggling a bit with control, walking 13. At Triple-A, he walked only one while striking out 36 in 23 innings, allowing just a single earned run. That's what Philadelphia fans are after -- another Steve Carlton. In Hamels, they may just have him. Justin Verlander, 23 Verlander has given up 10 earned runs in his last two starts vs. the Yankees and White Sox. The fact that Verlander is still 7-3 with a 2.55 ERA and nine quality starts is a testament to his stuff. A hard thrower, reaching 99 mph on the radar gun at times, the 6-foot-5 newbie had pitched only 118 Minor League innings when the Tigers called him up late last year. Maybe that's because he struck out 136 over that span, allowing just 17 earned runs. 10. Probables for the rest of the games in June: Atl: Johnson/Willis/Nolasco Tor: Olsen/Moehler/Johnson Bal: Willis/Nolasco/Olsen NYY: Moehler/Johnson/Willis Bos: Nolasco Nothing against Moe or anything but I would love to have JJ, Willis and Noly pitch in New York. How about the Yanks? I would look for it myself but I don't know their rotation or where to find it. I think it will be Wang/Johnson/Mussina, but Im not positive. The Yankee's dont have a normal rotation. They pitch Johnson and Mussina every 5th day and almost with Wang. Im not sure with Chacon because he just got back today. If there is an off day before or after Wright that would effect one of Johnson or Mussina's starts they skip him. So it's kind of hard to predict who they will have.
  11. Yusmeiro better be warming up...
  12. What about Melky Cabrera? The Yankees are gonna need pitching soon and they're probably going to trade for a big name OF'er soon since Sheff and Matsui are out untill September. Would anyone be interested in this and who do you think it would take? I think he would fit in good with the rest of our rookies.
  13. What are they gonna do with him? He hasnt been used in almost a week. He isnt getting any work in up here they need to send him back down so he can start some games. I hope they arent trying to turn him into a reliever.
  14. I'm also going to the Sunday game. Wow it seems like there should be a good amount of Marlins fans there. I've never been to the Bronx before, because I hate the Yankees, so I really dont know how Yankee fans would act. I cant imagine it would be anything like they do towards Boston fans or Met fans or anything like that. We're just there for 3 games then they never see us again so I dont think they will really care. I've been to Shae many times and no ones ever said anything to me before.
  15. I bet it will be flooded with NY fans thinking they can talk him into coming to NY like their request alone will get it done.
  16. Wow nice catch by Finley
  17. Dontrelle sucks on the West Coast
  18. Hermida_Rules27 I really cant understand how you can hate on Mitre so much. It seems like every time his name is brought up you have to put him down. Did he refuse to give you his autograph once or something? In all of his starts he himself only lost 2 games. Every other game could have easily been a win if he had run support or the bullpen didnt blow it for him. And you'd rather have Herges then Mitre? Are you serious??? That makes me laugh.
  19. Cabrera deffinatelly deserves to be the starting 3B. He is the best in the National League. Hanley and Uggla deserve to be there too but they wont start and Im not even positive they will make it. Its all a popularity contest. I mean look at the American League, CANO leads votes for 2B over Castillo, Loretta, Belliard, Iguchi, Roberts and every other 2B in the AL. Cano isnt better then a single one of them its just because he plays in NY.
  20. Wow thats some BS getting rid of German. Why not get rid of Herges? Germans 10 years younger with better numbers. His only problem is he has 14 BB, but he's only allowed 4 runs. He has a good arm and could be a nasty reliever. Stupid move...
  21. Replace Pinto with German and add Borowski at least till the break. Pinto still needs to work on his controll and we cant throw away our closer just yet. We need to make sure someone can handle that role.
  22. He went 7 and gave up 3 runs. Thats pretty good. You cant even concider that a bad outing. When your offense only gets 6 hits you cant really expect to win. I think JJ is for sure the real deal.
  23. Jeter's hand gets hurt, Hanley's hand gets hurt maybe its a sign that Hanley will be Jeter like?
  24. Ive been out since May 12th
  25. Reyes was on first Beltran popped it up and didnt run so Delgado let it drop and threw it to Castillo at 2nd and Castillo threw it to Moe at 1st by the time Beltran realized what was happening it was to late
