He'd ruin payroll, create clubhouse problems, would regress in performance as he is older, still can't play defense, and who knows how much longer he can play in LF. Varitek and Pudge all probably right out because of salary demands. Age 37+ catchers make me nervous - my preference (not knowing salary demands) would be Josh Bard, Michael Barrett, or David Ross. Where would the others’ salary demands fall - Olivo, Bard, Barrett, Ross? Also Lo Duca and Ausmus?
