2011-12 NFL Thread

You do know that team's do trades and then agree to restructured contracts, right? Both Reggie Bush and Ochocinco were traded this offseason with the contracts being redone to account for the cap structure. I expect Peyton to get traded, and the team that trades for him gets a restructured contract with that cap number going way down.

And why would Peyton do that?

2012 opponents were announced , no specific dates...

MIAMI DOLPHINS

Home: Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks.

Away: Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers

Sweet! Jaguars coming down!

There is nothing wrong with Thomas, and his running style could mix well with Bush. I personally prefer a multiple running back set instead of a dedicated fullback and having them both back there at the same time could lead to some impressive offensive performances.

If the team gets another viable running back it might even look like the 88 Bengals when they had Brooks, Wilson and Woods. Just with less shuffling and cocaine.

I hope Miami does not hire someone based on reputation, or past success. Hire the candidate who blew you away in the interview. The one who has a plan.

The Dolphins are running two seperate coaching searches. Carl Peterson is interviewing Fisher, while Ireland is interviewing coordinators, like Bowles and Toub.

That's how you do it! Make sure the coach and the assistants don't know each other and aren't on the same page!

Come on now...

Apparently, if we hire Fisher, Peterson joins Miami and Ireland may be demoted or fired. If we do not land Fisher, then Peterson will not join Miami and Ireland is safe.

Also, some Jets news, there are rumors that say Bart Scott and Santonio Holmes could be on there way out.

I'd personally rather have Ireland/up and coming assistant than Peterson/Fisher

Scott -- maybe; Holmes -- I really doubt it. Holmes' cap number is just too big.

I agree.

@mystikol, I agree. I think the Holmes issue will settle down. It's big now because of the loss.

Good riddance Jerry Angelo and Mike Martz.. Ted Phillips really really should have gone with. Very disappointing he wasn't let go. Really was hoping for Norv Turner to get fired and become the next OC. Like that Lovie is still here. Hurry back Jay

Now PLEASE sign Vincent Jackson (or Marques Colston)

These teams are pretty evenly matched and this game should be pretty close. Neither probably have a great chance of making it to the Superbowl but this should be a good game nonetheless.
