November 10, 201114 yr Quick, name a Cuban position player to make an impact in the past 10 years ... Mike Lowell´s parents are Cuban.
November 10, 201114 yr In English, por favor? "solo lo vi tirar y batear y lo comparo con la fuerza de Raul Mondesi, me gustaria tenerlo" I only saw him throw and hit, and I compare him with the strength of Raul Mondesi, I would like to have him.
November 10, 201114 yr Whoops! Basically "I just saw him throw and hit, and I compare his strength to that of Raul Mondesi, I would like to have him".
November 10, 201114 yr Quick, name a Cuban position player to make an impact in the past 10 years ... Mike Lowell´s parents are Cuban. It was more of just a fun exercise, off the top of your head it's tough. Cuban defectors tend to flame out, you hear about these amazing prospects who come here and do squat.

November 11, 201114 yr Dude honestly Cuban defectors have lived up the hype more so than Japanese players. Name a Cuban defector who got lots of hype and was a bust..I cant think of one. The Hernandez brothers paned out, as did Contreras, Morales, and Ramirez. Its too soon to make a call on the others, but so far I wish the marlins had given Chapman his payday.
November 11, 201114 yr Thanks for ruining the joke... I was going to respond "it was a fun exercise".
November 12, 201114 yr Cespedes May Not Become Free Agent For Two Months By Mike Axisa [November 12 at 12:09pm CST] It could take two months for MLB to declare Cuban outfielder Yoenis Cespedes a free agent, reports Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer (on Twitter). The 26-year-old became a household name last week thanks to the his . The Red Sox, Phillies, Indians, Blue Jays, Pirates, Rangers, Tigers, Nationals, Athletics, Marlins, and Yankees are among the teams with interest in Cespedes. There is some belief within baseball that he could wind up with a contract in excess of the $30MM Aroldis Chapman received two offseasons years ago. Cespedes is represented by Adam Katz of Wasserman Media Group.
November 12, 201114 yr Here's a really good article. I trust this man's opinion because he TRULY knows a lot about Cuban baseball. Like the banner says "He's the Peter Gammons of Cuban baseball" http://www.baseballd...ner.asp?id=2595 Here's also a little video of Peter on Anthony Bourdain's show: No Reservations. Around the 1:40 mark he'll start to name who he thinks could be a star in the majors. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=iydpFt1uS8Q
November 13, 201114 yr Obtaining a long-term solution at CF should be one of our priorities this winter. I would rather use our trade assets to obtain SP and there free-agent CF market is not impressive...signing Cespedes needs to happen. Plug him in the 5-hole and Stanton will finally have some protection. Having speed, power, and defense in CF and in the lineup will make everyone around him better. Get it done 5 years, 6 mil per.
November 18, 201114 yr Author Seems like he's seeking 60 Mil. That's a pretty penny for someone who hasnt seen a Major League pitch yet.
November 18, 201114 yr Do they have public areas in Miami where they assemble publicly to discuss baseball, or sports in general? That's nice.
