Hey guys, I am not normally into the whole conspiracy thing but I have watched this video a few times and I keep coming up with the same reaction. It just doesnt sound right to me. I think until we hear him say "I have accepted that if I am going to be part of this franchise, my position will be playing 3rd base", we have to assume there are going to be problems. I mean come on guys, his previous track record does not give him the benefit of the doubt otherwise, in my opinion. Let's not forget that this whole situation can be put to bed with one statement from Hanley and there are no signs that it is coming. I am beyond giving him the benefit of the doubt and i really like the guy and I hope he comes to his senses and plays ball.

 

Explain his terrible track record. He booted a ball once. Lots of players have a lapse in judgement. Most if not all haven't had to deal with the barrage of made up crap that hanley has received.

He has a right to be upset about switching positions. He'd been billed as the franchise player (after earning that title with his performance) and has been regarded as the best SS in baseball. Asking him to move aside for Reyes is a bit of a slap in the face right now.

 

 

I see your point. I guess it would be unrealistic to think he should do it with a smile on his face. But it doesnt seperate the fact that he still should come out and say it if he is as professional as some are blindly saying he is.

I just wish he would conduct himself a little bit better. I know that in the grand scheme of things he isn't a bad guy, as far as I know, he has never broken any laws of serious consequence. I just think that everyone involved (even us as fans) would be better served if he would bring closure, one way or the other, to the situation. To this point, he has lacked the unselfishness of doing that. That's where I have fault with Hanley. Either way, I am done with this thread.

 

Until he definitively brings closure to the situation, all replies that directly call me put in my posts will be "Has he either asked for a trade or said he will move to third base?"

Why would other teams initiate trade talks for a player who booted a ball to the outfield once?

Olney will not stop saying that he might be traded until ST starts and Hanley is predictably playing 3B. At that point he will say that the Marlins couldn't find the right fit for a trade partner.

1)Yeah, that was sh*tty. We were all pissed.

2) Also sh*tty. Also a long time ago.

3) That's Uggla being a jerk. Hanley was injured and was forced to sit out most of the rest of the season, which sucked for him because he just missed his goal of 200 hits.

So yeah, he didn't chase a ball in 2010. That was horrible.
