October 20, 201213 yr Really surprised that people are mad about this trade. Bell was awful and was publicly known to be cancer in the clubhouse last season. Who honestly would be willing to trade something worth anything for that? We should be glad that we were able to unload him with only $8mil coming from us. Plus this more or less gives Cishek the closer role next year.
October 20, 201213 yr Beinfest has nothing to worry about with regard to this deal because there is no way that Loria didn't specifically approve the final terms of it personally. Whether Loria has a problem with his entire tenure as GM (or whatever title) is another matter. I'm just glad he's gone. That they got someone to eat 13 million is a miracle.
October 20, 201213 yr Jesus fn Christ, Anyone have a prospect report on Cabrera? Hopefully there's more to come. Bell had to go, I just wish he went to NYY. Maybe Miami is picking up more of Arod's contract then we all though and they are clearing cash for it.

Getting rid of Bell and $13 million is a huge plus. And forget about A-Rod people. It's not gonna happen.
October 20, 201213 yr If Bell didn't have his big mouth he'd probably be back next season. I'm glad to see the front office owning up to their mistakes and correcting them. Hopefully they do add some talent though.

I just realized, i thought there was a trading moratorium once the postseason started. I guess that literally means Arod could be traded at any moment. Yay! Excitement!
October 20, 201213 yr Got rid of bell and 13 million which is nice. Cabrera will a,punt to nothing but let's see how they use the 13 million or if Loria just keeps it.
October 20, 201213 yr Didn't A-Rod already say he wasn't waiving his NTC? Also, who cares? A-Rod sucks too.
October 20, 201213 yr Let's get us a Josh Hamilton now! Yeah! ... Or BJ Upton and Jhonny Peralta, I'm cool with that, also.
October 20, 201213 yr Didn't A-Rod already say he wasn't waiving his NTC? Also, who cares? A-Rod sucks too. I haven't seen anything that said he wont waive it, I did see a few clips that said he likes New York and wants to be back, that the high are very high and lows very low. It's from the same interview that said he won't respod to page 6 gossip.
October 20, 201213 yr Let's get us a Josh Hamilton now! Yeah! ... Or BJ Upton and Jhonny Peralta, I'm cool with that, also. I read somewhere Upton doesn't really have power that will play everywhere. He's a great third option behind Bourn and Hamilton, but this lineup REALLY lacks power. Who was second on the team in HR's? Hanley?
October 20, 201213 yr $13 million to take some meaningless kid. We should have made Arizona give us some draft pick or something.

October 20, 201213 yr Author Are we expecting this kid to be our everyday third baseman? No, he will be in the minors.
October 20, 201213 yr Having him gone and not having to pay the majority of his contract makes it worth it in the end. Never expected to get a big return after coming off a horrible year from him.
