Eovaldi, Alvarez to the DL; Jose Fernandez called up

Featured Replies

He gon get traded.

First of all, if these injuries were known, why was Turner just sent down? You would think he would be a more viable option to start than Fernandez, who has so little experience. None of this makes sense.

Plus as mentioned it's going to cost this team if you let Fernandez become eligible to be a Super 2 by starting his clock now.

By the time his contract becomes an issue, none of these guys, including Loria, will be here.

It's not going to cost the team anything because as others have said, he will be traded

Is anyone else baffled by the fact that both Eovaldi and Alvarez are injured? I hadn't heard any rumours whatsoever all Spring that they weren't 100%.

more FO incompetency

I mean, I don't get this.

Might as well just call up Yelich too, while we're at it...

This could actually speed up Ricky Nolasco being traded....Eovaldi and Alvarez come back by late April, Fernandez pitches well....bye bye Ricky.

Morrison is also now on the 60-day DL so he's guaranteed to miss at least two months.

Is Loria hurting players this morning?!?

OR eovaldi and Alavarez take months to come back, Fernandez bombs, etc...

If Sanabia and Fernandez were the sixth and seventh guys in line for a rotation spot....why were they sent down early? Why are they not some of the last cuts?

To tease John Maine a bit.

Fernandez will be kept on an innings limit of 150-170 this year. That's really gonna hurt the team in the playoffs.

Juan C. Rodriguez @JCRMarlinsbeat

#Marlins will limit Jose Fernandez to 150-170 innings. Beinfest expects him to log them all in majors.

WHAT

The only reason he would be sent down is if he is the weakest performer when Eovaldi and/or Alvarez return... And like he said, I wouldn't expect that to be the case, so expect all those innings in the majors.

Ill be honest with you, I think he's absolutely ready, and I think he's going to be one of the biggest surprises of the year, possibly ROY.

Man, I thought this was an illegal early April fools day thread, and now it is confirmed to be real. Why not-what else can go wrong-the curse of Loria.

To tease John Maine a bit.Yea, he's gotta be pissed right now...

While I understand the reasons, anyone else laughing like I am at the fact that we finally get the thread titled Jose Fernandez Called Up, Big league debut coming Sunday... and we're pretty pissed off! Lmao the life of a Marlins fan!

I have no problems with Fernandez getting the nod in the rotation due to injury. It's no difference if you call him up now or in June. The only difference is money-wise.

between this and the ruggiano platooning absurdity, I'm pretty convinced the FO spins a wheel to make their decisions.

In fairness they use a dartboard.
