December 11, 201411 yr Maybe we get a piece or two from Angels for Haren to beef up the farm again? Doubt it.
December 11, 201411 yr I remember reading something yesterday that the Dodgers just kind of put Gordon's name out there to see if there was any interest from anyone, hoping maybe someone would bite. and boy did they bite.
December 11, 201411 yr another thing -- this team severly lacks any speed. Gordon provides that. Joe Frisaro @JoeFrisaro Last yr #Marlins stole 55 bases as a team. Dee Gordon swiped 64 #WinterMeetings
December 11, 201411 yr Unless we have a signing coming up we gave up a lot for an unnecessary reason.
December 11, 201411 yr Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN The top of the Marlins' lineup next season -- Yelich, Gordon, Stanton, perhaps -- could be dynamic. Lots of chances for No. 4 hitter. Exactly what I was saying. Hopefully that number 4 is a guy like Morse.
December 11, 201411 yr This should be interesting once Haren finds out. Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN Haren has friends in the game who say he is serious about retiring if he's traded away from southern California. Now a decision to come.
December 11, 201411 yr This should be interesting once Haren finds out. Haren is gonna "nah dawg" so freakin loud.
December 11, 201411 yr the Dodgers are gonna flip Heaney for something big now, and then we're going to all get more angry. wait for it.
December 11, 201411 yr Just a terribly short sighted deal. Never can do it right with this management.
December 11, 201411 yr the Dodgers are gonna swap Heaney for something big now, and then were going to all get more angry. wait for it. Maybe he will part of a package to the Phillies for Hamels? That would serve us right.
December 11, 201411 yr Guys, let's just be grateful it wasn't a trade with the Tigers. This should be the thread title.
December 11, 201411 yr I was upset just seeing Gordon for Heaney. Seeing Hernandez and Barnes added to the trade I just about had an aneurysm. This is my least favorite trade since the Willingham/Olsen trade (I know it worked out kinda with Bonifacio, but at the time the head of the trade was PJ Dean...Who retired before ever playing). We got a second baseman...who's eh other than his speed while giving up our top pitching prospect, our top 2B prospect and favorite to win the job outright (and who was beloved as a fun underdog 2B by Astros fans), and Barnes who I've touted in the minors as the most underrated prospect in the system along with Canha. I'm really frustrated here. I like Gordon at the top of the lineup but you gave up a god damn platter of players to get somebody who is in extreme buy high mode. DAMN RAYS GM now DODGERS GM screwing our front office.
December 11, 201411 yr So I guess we are gonna be Gordon Yelich Stanton Morneau/Morse Ozuna Mcgehee Salty Hech Not great.
December 11, 201411 yr Dee Gordon is an upgrade. He's also not worth four players with a future in the big leagues. Friedman just sold high.
December 11, 201411 yr I mean seriously people Kike Hernandez probably winds up with something like a 1.5 WAR at 2b. Dee Gordon ain't repeating a 3.1 This just to make up a gap in stolen bases? And we threw in Hatcher who I ripped all the time but actually was pretty good last season, and Kike, and Barnes? This blows. I don't hate Dee Gordon, he's useful. But this is just so dumb.
December 11, 201411 yr yeah like I said in another thread, the Marlins are gonna get shredded on this. Dan Jennings you are not supposed to allow this!!! I trusted you!!!
December 11, 201411 yr So I guess we are gonna be Gordon Yelich Stanton Morneau/Morse Ozuna Mcgehee Salty Hech Not great. Really? If Morse/Morneau are in there that looks just fine. You want Solano in there somewhere?
