July 5, 201511 yr In a twisted way, I think this is the front office conceding the season. Yes we're way out of it already but you know if the front office thought they had a shot they'd keep Ozuna up just in case he figures it out. I could be wrong but that's my guess.
July 5, 201511 yr Who the hell invited him to the party in the first place? Scrambles was hungry and wanted a douchey snack.

The fact that you don't hear about them trying to trade for more Carlos Lee type players in desperation is a positive sign.
July 6, 201511 yr I wonder if Ozuna regrets his decision to not talk about a longterm extension this past off-season. Boras'd Fuck it.
July 6, 201511 yr Keeps him from being super 2 at the end of the season. Hard to see this not having at least some $$$ motivation, especially considering the fact there's nothing close to as good as him on the roster

July 6, 201511 yr This is putting the organizational depth on display front and center. As bad as Ozuna was at the plate, I cringe at the replacement options.
July 6, 201511 yr How long does he need to stay down there? 1.153 days going into the year. So at least a monthish. IIRC, 125 is generally the cut off
July 6, 201511 yr Author Hopefully the Marlins are aware of this and keep him down there. Coghlan got the same treatment and missed Super-2 status, I believe.

July 6, 201511 yr Author just call up Marisni--- oh. nevermind. it's fine though, because Cosart is doin really well in the big leagues Eh, Marisnick is nothing special and is probably a bust. He wouldn't offer much other than a defensive upgrade over Morse.
July 6, 201511 yr Author I wish they brought up a cool prospect instead of valdysuck. There are none.
July 6, 201511 yr The Super 2 thing is probably a coincidence but also not something the front office will shy away from at this point. I mean if we were a contender and Ozuna was producing this demotion wouldn't have happened and we'd have paid him up. With Coghlan on the other hand it seemed like they really didn't wanna pay him at all.
July 6, 201511 yr Ozuna may never been a superstar but he is capable of .265-.275 with 25-30 home runs and 85+ RBI. Now it's just a matter of him growing a brain and learning how to adjust and improve. Even Tony Perez sounded frustrated with him.
July 6, 201511 yr Can Loria sell the team now? Even when he makes an effort to field a competitive team, he and his people fail miserably.
July 6, 201511 yr I hope Ozuna doesn't get a fastball to hit in the minor leagues. Just throw him sliders. That'll teach him!
July 6, 201511 yr Author I like valdespin. Ozuna is just meh.... Valdespin is a career .218/.273/.372 hitter and he is below average defensively at every position he plays. What exactly do you like about Valdespin? Because this is kind of like saying "I love anal bleeding. Penis seepage is just meh".
