No, it would look aesthetically less pleasing and there is no advantage gained. I also love low scoring games.

The people that voted yes are casuals.

No No No. The park is fine the way it is. Do you yes voters want to go back to the cookie cutter days where every park is the same and boring?

Close for me, but I say no. And the only reason it would be close for me is because of the extreme dimensions of the fences. Otherwise, I would want them to worry about building a team with pitching and defense first. Besides, the only thing bringing in the fences would do is provide more HRs, the offense is there for the taking in this park. They have big gaps in the outfield, that will provide plenty of offense. The only problem is, the Marlins offense doesn't take advantage of the offense the park provides, the park itself is fine for offense.

Yeah, so screw the fences, make a better god damn team.

Retractable fences. Put the fences 150 from home plate when we bat and for the other 29 teams make the fences 600 feet. We will still lose but our results will be much, much closer. Could win 65-70 games that way!

That's the stupidest thing I ever heard.

As if we could win 65-70 games!!

Yes people are assholes. Show yourselves.

I voted yes, and my reason is, I'm an asshole

I voted yes but only in center field and right center field.  Everywhere else can stay the same.  Get rid of that stupid bermuda triangle in center field and move the fences in 5-10 feet in right center and connect it.  Not a huge change but it is way too big as of right now.

I voted no. I think every park should be unique, and Marlins Park's dimensions are just that (without being ridiculous). That's one thing that separates baseball from the other major team sports (though I'm a huge football fan), that the playing field differs from place to place.

I voted no. It isn't like we are hitting a lot of doubles and triples that would be out anywhere else. Keep the park as it is and improve the offense and defense through smarter FA signings and drafting.

so i count squall, vince, sita, those 2 british guys, Admin, erck, the candian marlin guy, entendu, spike. whoa da fuck are the other 80 people

The Solano family.

I'm a little pissed that the yes votes are in the lead without actual reasons. Somethings up. This is some KC Royals voting conspiracy Admin. You should cancel a percentage of the votes until things are right.

I feel like a camgirl begging for these votes like tokens

Take off your teddy and I'll vote anyway you want

I voted yes and I wonder if MLB wants it moved in before the HR Derby in 2017.

I can see who votes for each one, no duplicate IPs so each is from a legit member.  Not sure why they don't comment though.

I voted yes.

I think there'll come a point down the line where hitters don't sign with us unless we extremely overpay because their numbers are guaranteed to hit a steep decline when they come here (especially power hitters). Obviously guys like Stanton and such will have good numbers here regardless of the park, but we've seen guys like Salty, Jones, Morse, Morrison, Coghlan, etc... just nosedive in numbers when they play at Marlins Park. Sure there's outliers, but the truth is if you are a power hitting free agent and are getting offered similar deals from the Marlins and say the Phillies, that player will be more likely to go to Philly if they're looking to play for that next contract.

I think the really good pitchers will break through regardless of the park (The Jose's and Alvarez's of the world will do fine. Everybody else eh).

I think it's also important from a marketing perspective to move the fences in. Giving Stanton a more hitter friendly park could propel him to a 45-50 home run a season level (barring injuries obviously). Stanton is a potential 600 home run guy, but playing a ton of games at Marlins Park is going to cost him a couple home runs that could be potential milestones. Especially with the All Star Game being held in 2017 here, there's incentive to move the fences in, hope Stanton pulls out a 30+ home run first half, and use it as a means to market Miami as a place to come and become an elite hitter in the future.

I voted Yes. I think CF should definitely be moved in along with left center and right center. Park plays fair down the lines.

I vote yes because I for one rather see offense than defense and for all the reasons dim just said.

im not a fan of this argument because there's plenty of exciting offense to be had with the doubles and triples that Marlins Park can provide. Even inside the park home runs. Offense in general isn't the issue here.
