September 30, 20169 yr Why is MLB making the team play these last 3 games? They are meaningless. It's a contract. Remember this is a business. Those tickets sold and to be sold pay the bills. So although these games mean nothing to most Marlins' fans as far as play offs, it matters to others. And probably to the team they can continue to console each other for another three games. The tightness they feel now are probably very important to them. And after Sunday they then go their separate ways and some of those players may not return next year.

As bad as it's been this week some of the players might really get it worse next week when they're back at home without their routines and just staring at their immediate families.

The Marlins need to make baseball decisions to improve this team which had signs of being great but ultimately did not have the rotation, depth, and offensive consistency to maintain what was a good season through July. Gordon suspended, Stanton's monumental slump, Bour getting hurt, Ozuna slumping in the second half, Chen grossly underperforming, bad deadline trades, and topped off with the death of one of the pillars of our organization and its future. I think I'm ready for hockey.

(goverment cut) I've seen several other stories say two bodies were under the boat and one was on the ocean floor so not sure what to believe.

September 30, 20169 yr Somewhere I read or heard that the tide was in so the jetty would be lower in the water and less visible. And the speed the boat was going would cause the front of the boat to be high in the water obviously making it hard to see with it being dark. In a way I really prayer that they didn't see it coming because the terror they would feel would be unfathomable. And it happened in an instant so by the time the reality of it hit them, they were gone.
September 30, 20169 yr I'm afraid to turn on the news or read about the accident at this time. We know Jose most likely will be crucified in the news, and lawsuits are coming. I can't imagine what the family have been going through. Our grief alone has been deep. But then to have what will follow will be so hard to take. On both sides. I also read that a Mr. Garcia (sorry don't remember the first name) had piloted that boat and another boat many times as they went out fishing and sometimes at night. I believe that is why the Florida Fish and Wildlife person stated he never saw Jose pilot that boat. Mr. Garcia did this to help teach Jose how to fish, maneuver the boat, and tell him when he was ready to have his own. I am assuming that he may be a professional boat captain. A mention was made is he always made sure that people came back safely. Too bad he didn't make this trip.
September 30, 20169 yr The jersey should have never gone missing and whoever did it was wrong but there's two mindsets in stealing the jersey... either "I'm gonna take this to sell it for a profit, fuck Jose Fernandez" or "my God I miss him so much I need to have something tangible to remember him by so I'm gonna take this I hope I don't get caught"... Neither is "right" but there's a difference between the two and maybe the person returning it is a sign that they didn't have bad intentions and rightfully came to their senses.
