Jose Fernandez dies in boating accident

Featured Replies

See the mets commentators getting choked up? , dang, never seen that before from a professional commentator.

I live in NJ, so I had to watch the Mets broadcast the whole night. Keith Hernandez was visibly shaken the entire game.

Major props to the Mets commentators. They were nothing but class last night.

With all of the posts, not sure if this had been mentioned, but Jose asked "several" other Marlins to go with him on the boat Saturday night.  One of them was Ozuna, who cautioned Jose about going out.

Just read that a bag of balls signed by Jose with his check book inside washed up ashore.

Where is the link to this?

Well known. That's what boras does.

Yep, can't stand the dude. I understand you want your client (and you) to make money, but there are some lines that shouldn't be crossed. I know it was up to Jose but he was young and looking at his advice

I almost never post here, just lurk. I felt it necessary to pay my respects though, for Jose.

This hurts so much, on so many levels.

I can't fathom what his family is going through.

However, he will always be a part of Miami, the Cuban community, and most certainly the Marlins family. His spirit WILL live on.

Que En Pas Descanses, Hermano.

There's really no point in debating this but there's also the thought that if Ozuna, or anyone else was on board, maybe different decisions are made and the accident doesn't happen, or maybe people survive because circumstances are different. Adding in Ozuna doesn't automatically mean Ozuna dies... maybe Ozuna, a man with a family to come home to, steps in and changes some of the things that led to the accident. Just a thought.

That's how I see it.

Admin, I just read through the entire Monday game thread, I was at the game and didn't have the strength to read through the whole thread until now... and of course it choked me up. Please tell me that's gonna be stickied or be put in the hall of fame or something. That thread is just beautiful.
