5/80 was what the Marlins were rumored to have offered right?  So LA matched it and Jansen prob would prefer to stay anyway.  And Miami didn't want to offer more.  All seems fine to me, he's a talent but that's a crazy deal for a reliever.  I'm not sad it worked out this way.  The money could be better spent. 

 

Go get Ziegler and another pen arm, and add a starter.

thank the stars that they didn't blow that kinda coin on a reliever - it would have been different if that was the missing piece (like when they had Looper closing and traded for Urbina in their last WS run) but this team has atrocious starting pitching and that money would be spent better elsewhere in a year where there are some players available who would make a bigger impact than a closer (which wasn't one of our biggest needs anyway)
