March 29, 20197 yr Does anyone believe they'll make even more renovations after this season, too? Not just a one year project? I think just the white on the autonation Alley might be a possibility if players complain.
March 29, 20197 yr I think it was Dave Hyde today in the Sun Sentinel who pointed out that the Red Sox do not advertise the culinary options at the ballpark to attract fans. That's the main thing that the Marlins are talking about these days; that and the improvements to the ballpark. That is obviously because the team will lose near 100 games. Since we will likely be in the same boat in 2020, I would expect them to make other upgrades and sell those next winter/spring to attract fans. So what are you saying? We should be like the Red Sox and not advertise these things and just hope eventually the fans turn out for the on field product?
March 29, 20197 yr So what are you saying? We should be like the Red Sox and not advertise these things and just hope eventually the fans turn out for the on field product? We should be the Red Sox and not like Jeter because Fuck Jeter so cheap wants to lose
March 31, 20197 yr Was at tonight's game and noticed the Taste of Miami is completely blocked off. They have to have something in mind for that area down the line. I can't believe they're gonna leave that area closed forever.
March 31, 20197 yr As always, very satisfied with my seats in Sec 5 Row J. If they’re available, these are the seats I buy (for several reasons). Some thoughts on the changes to Marlins Park: I love the Marlins logo out in CF (above the SRO sections). Looks amazing with windows open in the background, too. I didnt mind the Home Run Sculpture but, damn, the Park looks so much better without it. I got pumped when I saw a Novacento in the concourse. I got the chorizo sandwich. Delicious, however, make the sandwich smaller if your going to put a small amount of chorizo in a big bread roll. The unlimited refill soda cups are FIRE. Pure fire. The $3 hot dog and $5 beer sections. Mixed feelings. I was happy to get 3 hot dogs, nachos and a Rolling Rock beer for $17 but, the hot dogs are very small and the beer cup was small. So it’s the illusion of getting a hot dog for $3 and a beer for $5. It’s a $10 12 ounce Rolling Rock draft. It’s not that big of a deal. The chicken tenders and fries my son got at Fowl Pole (I think) were FIRE. In the bottom of the 8th they were completely out of chocolate ice cream (and other items) at the dessert place. 6,000 people came to the game and they ran out of chocolate ice cream. *the supervisor gave my son a different dessert for free because they were out of so many things. That was a really nice gesture so they totally redeemed themselves the 6-piece band that makes its way around the stadium? PURE FIRE. I felt like I was in a Hispanic French Quarter of New Orleans. It was 2 trombones, 2 trumpets and drummers. I hope they keep doing that. The pizza is average at best. There was a noticeable improvement of overall improvement from people who worked at the ballpark. It caught me off guard. Good stuff. Finally, someone told the DJ to pipe it WAY down from last year. I felt like I was at a baseball game. I could talk about the game with people sitting next to me and not have to yell.

That pizza is the best pizza I've ever had at a sporting event of any kind and, most importantly, it's a major improvement from the shit they had before. Not saying it's the best pizza ever but, you know, it tastes good, unlike before. Weird that I just made a post debating ballpark pizza but I was pleasantly with it.

On Thursday my son and I each got a cheese pIzZa. There was one left on the warming rack so they went to the back for a fresh one. The fresh one was really good and the one that had been sitting out was not so good. the 3o5 pretzels are really small and they have no salt on them.
April 1, 20197 yr Very interesting hearing the 305 menu items are smaller than expected. Reminds me of the Dollar Store... 25 paper plates are sold for one dollar... go to Walgreens and 100 paper plates are sold for four dollars... think carefully about that. Yes one is cheaper but is there really more value? It could depend on what you need and how much you have to spend but the perception of value for your dollar is twisted.

That's ... the same price, buddy. $1 for 25 = $4 for 100.
April 1, 20197 yr That's ... the same price, buddy. $1 for 25 = $4 for 100. No shit bro I'm making a point. My mother thinks it's so great when she finds something at the dollar store when in reality she's not necessarily saving money. The 305 menu seems to be using the same concept. With that said, the 305 Menu has its place say for a family that needs to buy 4 hot dogs for the kids.

Sir.

April 1, 20197 yr They are literally selling 6 ounce beers for $5? Yes sir. Rolling Rock. Sections 37 and 13.
April 1, 20197 yr The poster for the 305 Menu says the beers are 12 oz.
April 1, 20197 yr The poster for the 305 Menu says the beers are 12 oz. Oh boy. Someone is going to need to do some measurements tonight.
April 1, 20197 yr Six ounces is comically small. I don’t recall seeing anyone walking around with child sized cups of beer.
April 1, 20197 yr The $5 beer comes in small cups. I’m 100% sure because I bought one. My next beer was a 24oz king can of Miller Lite.
April 1, 20197 yr The $3 hot dogs are half the size (in girth) than the regular ball park hot dogs. There are some joke opportunities there, for sure, but it is also a fact because I bought one.
April 1, 20197 yr Author There is definitely color now but it seems specific to the concessions as opposed to random color everywhere. Also the last pic shows the fence put around the ballpark, apparently it was too open before, the public could walk through freely, and it has now been closed in for added security. I like that logo like that. Good, I'm glad they added some color back - the all white that was there at FanFest looked bad/institutional. Holy shit this makes perfect sense. There was no fence until @rmc523 started peering into their windows weekly. I'm sorry guys! I guess I took it too far when I started looking in/banging on the windows waving to Jeter for hours! I didn't hate the green walls or the home run sculpture but looking at these pics side by side it's hard to argue that they didn't upgrade. More sleek and modern now as opposed to what now looks like an overly gaudy and colorful amusement park ride. Even for those who liked the old look I don't think it'll age well. It hasn't even been a year since starting the changes and I'm already thrilled that the old look is gone. It looked much better once they painted that part below the budweiser bar red. I think it was white one year too - the green could very quickly become too much when put everywhere. I didn't mind it as an accent, but otherwise it was too much. The sun glare is making it look white anyway. It actually is silver or gray I think. I'm not sure it'll be an issue but if other players besides Blackmon complain, then it may end up with a darker coat of paint. I remember before the park opened originally, they had the batters eye painted the same lime green, and then after a few exhibition games were played, it was painted black before the season started. Does anyone believe they'll make even more renovations after this season, too? Not just a one year project? I think I recall them (Chip Bowers specifically) saying they had more changes in mind down the road, but they can only do so much in a single offseason. Was at tonight's game and noticed the Taste of Miami is completely blocked off. They have to have something in mind for that area down the line. I can't believe they're gonna leave that area closed forever. Interesting! It was blocked off at FanFest too, but I assumed they'd put something in by opening day. Like I said above, I recall them saying they had more changes in mind down the road, so I guess that area falls in to that. I wonder if it'll be more concessions still? Or maybe they could turn it into a Marlins history area showing some of the team's accomplishments - WS trophies, photos, memorabilia, etc.? --- Did you or anyone notice if that corner right by the home plate entrance on the main concourse (behind the info booth) was open? They had that blocked off at FanFest as well.
April 1, 20197 yr I think I recall them (Chip Bowers specifically) saying they had more changes in mind down the road This would be stupid. They should focus on improving the ballpark. Improving things down the local streets should be the responsibility of the community, not of the Marlins.
April 1, 20197 yr Anyways I went Saturday and had intended to get there early and really walk around and look at everything but plans changed and I didn't get the chance to. Once I got there I just sat down and actually enjoyed the game itself since I hadn't done that in so long in person. I kinda regret it now. Can't wait to go back to really look at all the improvements. Everything I did see look phenomenal though.
