Also, surprised by Garrett’s lack of velocity.

Biggest surprise of the game for me! I figured he’d be working 92-93 at this stage in his development. He’s throwing the same speed he did in high school.

Hahahaha. Can you imagine?

Roster Moves:

Braxton Garrett optioned to ATS,

Vesia recalled.

Ureña gets the start vs. Red Sox.

😂

Heeey ...

... no.

Because Braxton was the 29th man, someone just needs to be sent down.

Also be nice to Vesia. 😞

I think it's just a mental thing with him right now, he's a lot better than he's shown.

Hahahahaha, I was not being unkind to Vesia.

Just putting an example of similar past Marlins roster moves we have seen this year. The main point of that post/joke I made was Braxton being sent down and Ureña getting more starts.

I just picked Vesia getting called up because it was the first person that came to mind. The joke could have worked with saying Braxton gets sent down, Jesus Sanchez or Lewin Diaz gets called up, and Ureña keeps getting starts. 😂

I’m getting to the point I’m almost convinced you’re Mrs. Vesia.

This is a Don Mattingly managed team. I GUARANTEE you that Ureña gets another start. If he doesn't, I will buy a Jose Ureña jersey*

*Probably not an authentic one just in case

Something I've realized.

It's quite possible that we see Scherzer vs Sixto on Friday.

Might be better if both teams wait til Saturday to be honest, won't have the doubleheader to worry about.

Ah! So this is why I haven't seen any of them Zac Gallen acolytes wandering these parts lately?

Shame. I miss those fellas.

How could you blaspheme our lord and savior?

Maybe it's just a rule in this team that you need to start a SP three games before you  give up on him …jokes aside, I don't think it's just the idea of Donnie to start him again and maybe the front office involved in it and it's just something that most conflicted between the fans and the team, we think he had nothing to show but the team seems have other thinking …

Would that be a concern ?

I don’t know if it’s necessarily a health concern, but it’s concerning that his arm strength hasn’t developed much since he was basically a teenager. Especially since he had Tommy John which usually causes an increase in velocity due to the rehab/strengthening process.

I hope it was a just an anomaly and we see a little bit more velocity next start.

This play and his reaction are symbolic of the Marlins entire season and the reaction is MLB and the rest of the baseball world in shock that the bottom feeder Marlins are suddenly good.

I'll take this as a compliment, a quote from the NY Post in an article expressing disappointment in the Mets...

Quote

The Mets have become what the Marlins were supposed to be, patsies who simply can’t get out of their own way, can’t put together a hot streak, can’t even win four games in a row. If that’s how it’s going to be, the Mets won’t even last the week.

“If this has not opened the eyes of the people out there that the organization is deep and is doing whatever they need to do to be a sustainable winner for a long time, I don't know what will,” Rojas said.

Miguel Rojas when asked about how the Marlins manage to call up yet another prospect who impresses and helps them win another game. You would definitely think people will start noticing. This team has preached the importance of depth and this season has been a perfect example of how and why. The 2020 Marlins season so far has been defined by two words, depth and resiliency.
