At some point the Marlins are going to be forced to have a pitcher get an at bat this season.

Book it.

And it'll be in a Pablo Lopez start effectively meaning we don't have our best hitting pitcher available.

More exciting than the Cardinals season.

standings say otherwise.

Cardinals are doing something similar to the Marlins, just they're better overall.

Marlins dominate the Nats and make people think there's a chance then suck against everyone else.

Cardinals do that with the Reds and Cubs and Pirates. And then are "OK" against everyone else.

Like I said, better overall. But similar. First round elimination probably.

Actual Record update: 38-56

Is this like a take away our record against the Nationals thing?

Wouldn’t it be 32-49?

If I remember it's assuming a split with the Nats - not removing altogether

Hovertical's got it right.

True talent of the team, though. Ridiculous or not.

No it's not. They won those games. Do we assume they should have won any games that they lost to offset?

OK, fine, keep the 12 wins.

Outside of that, 32-49. That's the team against all other teams. It's a bad team and will likely end up 25 games under since we have just six remaining games against the Nats.

Well, we agree that's it's a bad team

I doubt Don has anything to do with determining how to shift against a certain player. Feels like the analytics department would be sending that down. Although he definitely has a say in calling it on the field.

I mean, I guess, but who is this analytics department? Are they reading the analysis backwards?

Very well might not be Don's call, you're right, Eric. Entendu's question is also valid - how can they look at the batted ball numbers of Luis Guillorme and think they need to play him as an extreme pull hitter? It's legitimately just "he's left handed, everyone towards right." There's no further thought beyond that. 😞
