Wendle has a career 82 wRC+ vs lefties so it's not as if he's BAD against them. Just bat him lower in the order if you have to, don't sit him for Willians Astudillo [who has a 79 wRC+ vs lefties lol].
July 25, 20224 yr Ya well its probably more of Don is an idiot than Don giving wendle a day off. Cause you know lefties have to sit v lefties idea!

July 27, 20224 yr Why is Tanner Scott the closer again? The fact that Jesus Aguilar is overweight and can’t bend down for a double play groundball on Sunday means that Bass doesn’t have a “closers mentality” or something, apparently. #DonnieBaseball

In part because Lewin Diaz made a play that Aguilar doesn’t make.
July 28, 20224 yr 28th July, 9th inning, tie game Runners 1st [Stallings] and 2nd [Williams] Does not pinch run for Stallings until after Joey Wendle hits a double and Stallings reached third, when Don then pinch ran with Fortes. Wendle could have had a two RBI triple and the Marlins an 8-5 lead with the following sac fly. Instead it was a one RBI double. Following sac fly made it 7-5. Not the worst thing but had it been a two run deficit and this happened, we know how that would have gone.

Imagine how fun this offense could be if they signed 3 Wendles to replace the corner OF signings.

August 2, 20224 yr Tonight: If it was a 2 run deficit in the 8th, Bass would have pitched. Since it was a 3 run deficit, he did not pitch. Donalytics: 2 run deficit, winnable. 3 run deficit, insurmountable. Holy. Shit.
August 3, 20224 yr Pinch ran for Bleday (who has above average speed and was already in the game for someone else) with Billy Hamilton in the 7th inning. Marlins did not score. Hamilton's spot comes up in the 9th with the tying run at third base [Williams, who can fly]. Hamilton is an accomplished bunter who is one of the fastest guys in baseball. Pinch hits with Stallings, who struck out.

August 3, 20224 yr Mattingly just going through the motions at this point. MIght as well just let him go, but Sherman wont do that cause you know, gotta pay 2 managers then.

So yes, it is time.
