CyggyMarlin's suspension has been increased to 50 games after showing zero remorse for the failed test.

The league has stopped caring about CyggyMarlin and has decided to tell all owners to not sign him.

I would sign him. 10 years $3 total.

Beat chest and throw behind Matt Olson the first time he comes to the plate. Maybe have Head/Pop do that to not lose a starter.

Mish is calling bullshit on that because of Avi and a supposed 5 year offer to Marte. That's pretty good evidence to me unless things changed recently.

I agree, it seems like BS.

I don’t trust anyone in the media other than Mish with reports of their plan. Others just seem like casuals with reports based on amateur dot connecting. Mish shot this down in 2 seconds.

They don’t have a CF solution. Not on the roster, not in the minors, not in the org.

Totally agree. Shared it to get a discussion on it going, but I don't necessarily believe it.

Makes you wonder why they gave Avi 4 years then. The plan really must be to put him in center. lol

Yes. This is what doesn't make sense for me also, unless they project him to play CF for at least 2 years. That would change everything honestly.

Sanchez-"A CF"-Cooper/DLC platoon, with Aguilar at 1B, and call it Schwarber/Soler at DH for reasonably years.... with Bleday and Burdick both coming to carve out roles (basically replace Cooper and DLC short term, and replace the DH longterm). It sets up very nicely to keep the "expensive" guys (Aguilar, Cooper, and a veteran DH) for now to bridge too later in a year or two (Lewin is the other internal replacement here).

They can honestly still do this exact thing, but they need a CF to finish it. off. And if they want a fancy DH, just swap one for Cooper/Aguilar.

Trade the pitching and spend some money. It's that easy.

Defensively they do with De La Cruz.   He is more than capable in CF.  The only question is his bat.  Was 2021 a fluke, or will he be a below replacement hitter?  I liked what I saw last season, but I understand it's a small sample size. We'll have to wait and see.

Also, plans could have changed.  Since it's Ng's show now, maybe she'd rather not block Bleday, and Burdick?  Where as Jeter has been selling us on 5 a year plan.  He was ready to spend money to compete this season.  This is only Ng's 2nd season, and 1st as the top dog.  It's worth considering, atleast.

DLC was atrocious in CF though (metrics wise anyways). SSS yes, and he was GOOD in RF, but he isn't option A or B on a contending team. Maybe not even C. He also had a .380 BABIP so we know the answer to if it's going to be a fluke or not already. I'm fine with him as the 12th or 13th hitter unless there are larger upgrades. He's earned at least that and may be fine as a backup (with upside), but if he is starting CF opening day they have major problems.

Also plans don't change in years - they change with personnel. Sandy and Rogers exploding into front line SP (as well as acquiring Luzardo who everyone is sleeping on and he could easily go all Pablo/Rogers next year) changed everything. Not going for it this year is blowing a year of frontline SP in their prime - and that's unforgivable with a bottom 5 payroll where even going to $90m puts together a complete team. The Mets are going to spend 3x that amount. As well as, they have 5 universal top 100 prospects, and four more guys (Bleday, Burdick, Salas, Eder) who have dabbled onto a few or got honorable mentions as just missing. They have assets to burn. I give Ng absolutely no grace period to find her vision. The vision is clear and she sucks if she doesn't see it - they have the pitching and a solid group of vets/kid bats. They need the final pieces right now. No excuses.

Broken record - it's their own fault if they continue to suck on paper.

You mean if they give Ng more 'time' to find her vision (i.e. being cheap and not spending) and then they fire her 2 year from now and bring in another GM to again 'find' their vision you won't be happy?
