Cueto would have to improve A LOT from his recent form. But hey, at least this might give Waino some competition for worst starting pitcher in the league!

Playing as many seasons as Cueto has, rehab & spring training starts are probably boring him and may not reflect much. Wainwright has eleven starts this year, Cueto has one right now.
July 14, 20233 yr I liked the Cueto signing at the time. I watched him a lot last year and he did a good job. I was hopeful he'd come in, eat innings and be a good veteran presence for a young staff as he leads by example and is a great teammate. Not looking likely but I really hope he turns it around because he's fun as hell when he's pitching 6-7 innings a game. Very entertaining

Put him at 3B Trade prospects and Avisail for Anderson and Grandal. Change of scenery trade for both parties, probably wouldnt cost much at all since grandal is a FA and Anderson only has 1 year team option at 13 mil (and the fact neither have been good this year). Garcia's best year was in Chicago fwiw You get the avi and segura money off the books for the next few years, so the bryant risk doesnt look that completely terrifying, especially for the next few seasons.. and especially if the the rockies give a decent amount of cash back. The reward could be a franchise cornerstone player. If anderson turns it around, you have an all star SS on the cheap for another year, if he sucks, decline team option. Grandal isnt good but atleast he knows how to give real ABs, something our catchers don't do. Giving him a small break with the All-Star week giving the team a little extra time. Nothing to worry about yet. He's right up at his career high for innings so a small breather is good.

No matter what, multiple starters are going to have more than 5 days due to the ASG. Luzardo would have to start tonight to be on the normal rest, which I'd have been OK with, but looks like they've decided on a reset. It'll be perfectly fine, as long as he stayed active between outings.
