  1. That HUGE line of thunderstorms needs to head east. If it does then we are fine :thumbup . Well right now seem like a good time to train Reggie in the outfield. Catching fly balls in the wet field. Throw some rock all over the outfield so Reggie learn not to trip while catching those flyball. Right in the middle of open space where an active thunderstorm is passing by so Reggie can conquer his fear. How much longer must we endure this clown's posts? :mischief2
  2. Any news on the GCL Marlins? :mischief2
  3. Hanley :plain He needs a day off...no way he should face Halladay tomorrow.
  4. Nice to see Hermi hitting...now all we need is Hanley to get back on track...
  5. Olivo walks. Moehler coming up. Intentional? Okay...I see...
  6. If we coan get Hermi & Hanley back on track + Willy off the DL...this lineup would be looking good. :thumbup
  7. Why do you say that? Ungs aint half bad. He's a decent middle of the road prospect...but with the likes of Pinto, Petit & Sanchez (in the short term) and the future arms (Volstad, West, Gaby, Thompson, etc.) it's just a numbers game with him.
  8. If Moe has a bad start, someone else will get his starts. Either Petit, or Ungs or Sanchez will get called up. This is the start that decides it for Moe IMO. I'd imagine Moehler is secure until at least the All-Star break. Ungs will never start a game for the Florida Marlins. :plain
  9. What if..... Heywood - what do you say now??? :whistle
  10. I was surprised they didn't suspend him for shoving the WCBS-TV cameraman last year... I'm surprised Joey Pitbull wasn't suspended for grabbing Olsen's shirt. :whistle
  11. The Jamestown Jammers come to town July 15-17. What are the chances that I could see him pitch? 3 out of 5 :hat
  12. By all accounts he'll be a Jamestown Jammer...
  13. Nolan Ryan for Jim Fregosi Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio & Bobby Shantz :whistle
  14. F* the Braves... Wrong forum :whistle
  15. I think the lineup is good enough to overcome one shortfall be it CF or C - but not both. When we have three holes (Hermida down) the offensive is much, much worse. Keep everyone healthy, continue development of our young players, find a solid CF or C and we should be in good shape for the future. :thumbup
  16. For that to happen, you need a number of factors to occur. How do we even know that Moehler is approachable to the players he knows will be in position to take his job? How do we know that these young players are coming to him? That what he knows what steps he takes to be successful and how that can translate to other players? How do we know what is offering is helpful? We don't know...however Beinfest, Hill, Girardi and Kranitz certainly do know what goes on in the clubhouse and how the young arms relate to Moehler. That's why you need to have some faith in management and the coaching staff...things aren't always black and white. Perhaps the decision to keep Herges had something to do with his "approachability" vs. that of Lightenberg, Wellemeyer and/or German? :mischief2
  17. Loria should buy one for everyone on the team...cheap bastard.
  18. Olsen, Nolasco and Johnson are ready for the rotation.. Pinto and Petit aren't. That's why Moe is pitching, and like das said, has kept us in games lately. He isn't a part of our future, yes, so whenever anyone is ready to step in, no probelms here. Thanks for a bit of sanity Iowa...the knee-jerk reactions on this board are absurd. This isn't a fantasy team...this is a major-league ball club. Jeez...
  19. Does every f***ing thread need to turn into why Mitre sucks? We know you think he sucks. Great, no one cares anymore or make a one giant thread where you can make your pointless arguments. I don't care, just don't bring it into almost every thread relating to pitching. :lol :thumbup :notworthy
  20. After him, it seems to me our trade choices are limited although the pitching starved D'Rays might part with Hollins for Sanchez (just a thought, not a suggestion). In short we are going to have to work with what we have and hope either Reggie wakes up or Joe becomes much more consistent, and above all Willingham and Hermida stay healthy. Hollins for Sanchez? Anibel Sanchez? God no...Beinfest would never make such a foolish move.
  21. Difference in the game was when Ricky gave up the triple to Young.... You can thank Hermida for that...it was single that was misplayed into a triple... :whistle
  22. Yankees coaches have played and coached the same day Joe Girardi is not a Yankee coach...he is the Marlin manager. Girardi might participate in the pre-game festvities but I highly doubt he will "play" in the game.
  23. I couldn't believe this...not sure how this is a good thing. Forget about ever going to a Super Bowl here in Florida... :confused Bush approved a bill that eliminates a provision against reselling tickets for more than $1 above the original price. The measure's sponsor, Rep. John Stargel, R-Lakeland, said the law will allow people to sell their unwanted tickets for as much as buyers are willing to pay. But the law also allows Florida's attorney general to investigate whether people or companies buy large numbers of tickets to monopolize an event, force consumers to buy resold tickets at high prices.
  24. Homerun for JoBo. Don't let those splinters bother you too much Reggie... :whistle
