If they're spending money, it means they're likely to keep spending money. If they're likely to keep spending money, it means they're likely to spend some on Miguel Cabrera. If they're likely to spend some money on Miguel Cabrera, it means they're likely to keep him. If they're likely to keep him, it means we could end up with both. See what I did there? it also means they have a stadium deal, it also means that Arod wont come here without meeting with them and going over the roster and future parts and assurance they wont screw it up. It also would give miggy more reason to stay. It would also mean full crowds to see ARod a local boy and best player in the sport go for the all time records. Only way happens is if they had a deal already but still think it is a long shot easier for us to get bonds I bet lol
October 18, 200718 yr Problem is that if you go out and spend the money for ARod, now you are sending the message out that you have enough money to spend on your team but not a new stadium to save your franchise. Some how I have a feeling that could end up ticking off some of the wrong people.

Although part of what makes the offseason fun is all the speculation and talk about potential moves so why the hell not? That being said, I don't see any possibility of A-Rod being a Marlin next year.

Plus by signing A-Rod they woudl generate huge amounts of income. Tickets, sponsors, merchandise. It would be the HUGE. also one way they can make sure they get there moneis worth is to pay him $20M for the season, $5M for making the playoffs and $5M if we win the world series "if you build it, they will come"

October 18, 200718 yr I would be happy to get him here. I would hope though we could keep Miggy and move him to 1B. The big question though is would A-Rod continue to play 3B with Hanley at SS? One of the factors to why he wants out of NY is he does not like playing 3B.

Thats....interesting Cabrera is much younger than A-Rod and he doesn't become a little girl when he's in the playoffs. A-Rod didn't become a little girl in the playoffs in his first years in Seattle, either.

SUCKS and is an a**hole 2. did not play everyday 3. he was only healthy one season (the fat ass threw out his shoulder having to always pick his pants up past his big belly) so it was hard to see and attendance bump based soley on him because in 1997 we signed a few more names then Alex "Turd"andez. When the D-Train is on the tracks more people show up rather then when Van-denhurk, or even a good pitcher like Mitre. people would come see A-Rod

I'd rather have Cabs. actually this should be a concern for us. if arod opts out of his deal and leaves ny (the chances of him coming here are extremely slim...) the yanks are gonna need a 3b. i would think that cabs would top their shortlist... and they may make us an offer we cant refuse. as a marlins fan, im pulling hard for arod to stay in ny. that being said, the ONLY way he comes here is if we get a stadium deal asap and loria agrees to drastically increase payroll. if that happens, our attendance issues will be over... for like five minutes... unless they start to win. jeez, just thinking of arod, cabs, and hram in this lineup almost makes me incontinent.

Next - Infact they averaged about 1,600 less (about 27k) in Fernandez starts at home compared to the 29K a game they drew for games in which he did not pitched.
