If we wait as long as we did with Cabrera, THEN he'll end up signing for $200 million (although I don't think we'll wait even close to that LONG, as Cabrera got his near $200 million deal from the Tigers just shy of his 25th birthday. We'd be the most incompetent front office to not sign him this offseason, let alone not signing him until 2015).

 

This deal will get done this offseason. We'll all be happy because he'll get a contract that will be very similar to what Carlos Gonzalez got right after his near MVP campaign. Stanton will be a Marlin for life. Don't worry.

It's hard for me to be in awe of Stanton's power anymore when I know that the Marlins FO predictably botched his contract extension and it is certain that he will be playing with another team soon.

The only thing we can do is enjoy it while it lasts. He's on pace for a monster year.

While they absolutely botched his contract, they may just keep him through 2016 and take the draft picks.

 

I'm really not opposed, but they need to bring in two serious free agent bats next offseason, and upgrade somewhere else through trading some pitchers.

 

I'm just saying, it's really hard not to enjoy what he is doing even with how badly the organization is run. He's incredible.

Stanton has over 40% more RBIs than the next closest player in the NL. So sick.

Also cool thinking today was his first RBI in five games. He's been kinda cold.
