The Official Giancarlo Stanton Man Crush Thread

Featured Replies

Funny this happens the day AFTER I go watch a baseball game at the park.

Stanton is love...Stanton is life.

It's hard to get too excited anymore when you know that the Marlins f***ed up his contract and he will be gone in a season.

Dude he was NEVER signing here, even with a Longoria type deal, he's wanted to be out of here asap and by doing it this way, he's more in control of where he ends up. I'm starting to not blame the Marlins as much as I used to.

He would have signed an extension if it were offered to him two years ago.

I doubt it, but we'll never know now. He was born an LA Dodger fan, and that is where he wants to be. He has to be unloaded this Summer, if not Loria is once again wasting an incredible asset.

I wasn't high on what Boston would have to offer for Stanton to begin with.. Now with the Henry comment, yeah no f'n im dealing him there

Yes cause every guy only signs with his home town favorite team . But like you said, we will probably never know.

Boston has the best collection of prospects to offer Miami at need positions and overall upside and it's not even close.

No but this looks like it's setting up with a pretty good chance of happening.

I don't doubt it at all. A kid making $500,000 a year and two years away from arbitration is not turning down a $70+ million guaranteed contract that allows him to be a free agent in his prime. No one on this planet is doing that. All you have to say is "Grady Sizemore." Stanton 100% signs tomorrow if the Marlins offer a 5/$100 extension. Money talks. As well, Longoria is a horrible comparison from your previous post as he signed before any material MLB service time. Stanton would be closer to Cargo, J. Upton, or McCutchen at deal time and leverage. It matters, not just semantics.

Marlins have already partially 'wasted' the asset as an acquiring team will have to dish out an insane contract to keep him. Trading him at the deadline doesn't fix this Trading him in November would have. They are just the worst.

did anyone else notice it said "Yelich 2 run HR" after Stanton blasted it?

Yep, he's definitely gonna be a Dodger soon. The signs are all around us!

Plus, Ed Lucas tweaked his hamstring today ... Stanton is definitely gone now.

can you imagine Trout and Stanton in the same lineup with Pujols and Josh Hamilton. They may just run out of baseballs with all the ones they would launch out of the stadium

I was mentioning to my wife that I had never seen Stanton connect in a game when I was at. Not anymore.
