Johnson, Buehrle, Reyes, Buck, Bonifacio to Toronto

Alright Rab let's bet on this...

When we get closer to seeing what rosters will look like, let's bet on Marlins v. Astros. Right now, I'm going Astros.

Right now I'm taking Marlins but we'll see. It's possibly on.

The Marlins have a better team than the Astros. That is all. I'd take that bet.

But then we wouldn't be able to see the game! I like the idea of former players though

Why in the Sam Hill would you want to see the Marlins play now? This boy ain't right.

The deal WILL be allowed today. Selig made a decision over the weekend and waited till Monday to announce it. No sources just a feeling.

Don't even need a "feeling." Selig has said it's not his business to tell clubs how to run their businesses. Nor should it be. That ain't his job. He knows that as well as anyone, being a former owner.

The tip-off in this deal was when he said he understood the negative reaction in Miami, but he also understood how happy the fans in Toronto are.

The only reason he's even involved is that more than 1 million in cash is involved, and 4 million is no big deal. The deal will be approved.

So do people actually think it would be better if this is vetoed?

No, but it would be hilarious.

Rejecting the trade would do more of a disservice to Marlins fans than allowing it. Those players are gone, if not in this trade -- then in other trades soon. All it would do is reduce our return in the deal.

Not that Selig will veto it but just saying, it doesn't help anyone if he does.

This is all just for show. Put the damn trade through already so that Samson can go back on his word from last week and trade Nolasco already.

And if the league or Selig want to punish the Marlins, figure out a way to punish them without punishing the fans. We've been through enough, taking away something cool like the all-star game would be lame.

I might be in the minority, but I hope the trade gets vetoed. We really didn't get much in return anyways, and it's a message to Loria that while it's his franchise, it's Selig's game. Loria used the MLB to help him get a stadium, he used public funds to pay for it, so this isn't a story of a man doing with his property as he wishes.

I don't care about winning with Loria as the team's owner. I'll be happy just seeing every step he takes come with a lot of difficulty. In other words, I want sh*t to be terribly unbearable for him as the owner of this team, even if we're affected as fans as a result.

It would be completely unfair to the Blue Jays however.

The Blue Jays haven't lost anything, though. The trade isn't being rescinded; it hasn't happened yet.

Part of what I want is to make everyone wary of doing business with Loria as the Marlins owner. Half of that he's done himself, though.

Perhaps Selig has requested team financials so he can make some sort of determination as to the "real" motive for the move. Keep in mind, I have no knowledge if the financials are readily available or if MLB can even request/demand the financials. I really see the "best interest of the game" clause being used soon but in the dodger tradition. I have all the confidence in Selig that Loria wont be the owner of this team for much longer.

So do people actually think it would be better if this is vetoed?

In think so, Loria would be forced to either sell or realize his mistake.

I hope it gets vetoed to, and i have a gut feeling that it will.

I don't think anyone's questioning who the commissioner of baseball is.

and boy do I wish Selig wasn't the commissioner.

the biggest piece of sh*t involved in the MLB behind Loria and Samson is Selig.

he allowed all this to happen. + no instant replay, an absolutely idiotic playoff structure, not overturning games/plays that should have been overturned, etc.
