Marlins check in on Price and Porcello

Featured Replies

@jonmorosi: Sources: Marlins have inquired to Tigers about availability of David Price or Rick Porcello. Talks are not serious right now.

We are going to get ripped off

Someone needs to put some kind of spell on the Marlins FO so they think there's only 28 other teams and that the Detroit team isn't a real one. Don't call them for anything.

Marlins need to trade pitching depth to Red Sox for infielders and go to FA for some vet pitching.

Don't see how trading prospects for a one year rental is wise.

even if the Marlins had the pieces to trade for Price he's getting like $15m next year and will probably just go and sign with the Yankees after that.

Miami was talking with tampa about price last year too. How serious were those talk is unknown.. we're due, hopefully.

When it comes to us and Dombrowski, the 'Price' is always wrong.

I'm hearing Price & Porcello for Yelich, Ozuna, Heaney, Alvarez and Cishek plus our first round draft pick every year until 2047.

It's almost a done deal but we're pushing the Tigers to include their 16th highest-rated prospect to make it happen.

The front office has said constantly that if they trade for pitching it's going to be a Jared Cosart type deal, not a Price.

I'm gonna say flat out no on Price since it'll cost too much.

However, Porcello ... as long as we don't get ripped off again, then yes. I'd be OK with getting him as a #4/#5. If he can be had for a B-level prospect, then sure.

We have to trade with the Tigers to get Porcillo?

Are the Marlins Charlie Brown trying to kick the football from Lucy's hold?

Barry Jackson has also said that Marlins are intent in improving at first and have looked into trades for Chris Davis and Evan Gattis; "lukewarm" on Morse.

Davis would cost too much and most likely be disappointing; Gattis would cost too much simply because of intradivision.

Just go with Morse.

If Davis came relatively cheap, then fine, but otherwise, Morse.
