Unlikely we see Mathis back, but it is possible I suppose. I think they plan to just give the backup job to Telis though.

Ok? Dispute what I said.  Did the fact Collins left Clippard in for the second walk not matter in Game four? Did the fact he left Harvey in for the 9th even after leadoff walk not matter? Would the results have been identical with other decisions?

It's impossible to know for sure. I would've done it differently, but the point is that the manager who won the World Series had a roster so good/balanced that he barely even had to manage it. 

 

Also, my point is that I don't think this Mattingly hire matters. Whether people like him or not, his success will be dependent on the players the front office brings in. 

 

A lot of managers manage the same way. Their success is dependent on the team the front office puts together for them to manage. For what it's worth, if the Marlins could get a couple of good SP's, I don't see why we can't be the next Royals. We should build our team like the Royals did. BRING IN CHAPMAN!

And they also do a fucking fantastic job of old school scouting for on-field decisions.  Only reason why Hosmer scored because of the advanced scouting used on both Wright's throwing issues and Duda's, something the computers cant tell you.

 

If anything it shows how you cannot simply rely on just one school and say go fuck yourself other school.
