May 11, 20224 yr I honestly wasnt onboard with this fire Don talk until this AZ series. I do not see the team playing with passion and it doesnt look like much fun out there for them. I think it may be time to see what Rowson can do. We are just not currently a winning team and the easiest change to make right now would be at manager.

What had Mattingly done that made you think he was a decent manager before this series?
May 11, 20224 yr Who cares if they fire Mattingly. Rowson won't accomplish anything, he might make less idiotic moves especially with the bullpen, but it doesnt matter if the talent isnt there, which well, its not across the board. Until they rid this franchise of Denbo, shit wont even have a chance to correct themselves. Not to mention the real elephant in the room and the real cause of all the issues, Bruce Sherman.

There just comes a point where status quo isn't cutting it anymore and you have to look at the move that would hurt the least. Short of acquiring 2 or 3 offensive replacements changing the manager seems like the most logical thing.

The talent is there. The starting rotation is very good and can be elite. The bullpen can be very good if used correctly. The lineup has holes, but is good enough to score more runs than the other team because of our excellent pitching staff. While I thoroughly disagree with Mattingly's "one run losses are almost wins" horseshit, the truth is that one run losses are wins that were taken away because of one or two game situations or decisions. With a better (or hell, even slightly competent) manager, many of those one run losses end up as wins. There have already been 6 games this season where the Marlins lost directly because of something Don Mattingly did in the game. While there's no guarantee that the "right" move would have resulted in a win, there is a guarantee that Mattingly's move directly resulted in a loss. So let's say half of those 6 direct Mattingly losses end up as wins, and then 3 of the other one run losses end up as wins with a stronger manager setting the lineup and so on. All of a sudden, the Marlins, with this exact same roster, are 19-11 and a game out of first place.

May 22, 20224 yr Author So after a 7 game win streak, this team will be 5 and 14 after tonight. Another goddamn 1 run loss... Don is phoning it in, I truly believe he has lost this team... there is no spark (outside of Jazz) and Don does absolutely nothing to fire this team up or hold them accountable when someone screws up Granted, Stallings walked but having him bat in the 9th because there is NO one else on the bench? That's on Don and Kim.... I'm just so fucking tired of all this. I don't care who goes at this point, but someone needs to be fired...NOW... Send a message that there will be changes to fix things.... but I doubt it... Sherman is a fucking cheap bastard, Kim is out of her league as GM (I wanted her to do well, but we're past that) and Don is a moron...

May 22, 20224 yr Don hardly ever argues strikes and now this. Just a bad look and a quick way to lose the clubhouse.
May 30, 20224 yr Author Wonder what Don's post-game yawnfest will be after today's game... Sulser doesn't have it today... Bases loaded, no outs... and leaves him out there in a 1 - 0 game... Fucking idiot
