Jeter made his money back and bounced, but Sherman is stuck with this albatross with low revenue. Lets assume all that is true. Bruce bought a business and needs to field a better product. So he's gotta fight low revenue by...... creating that better product! This isn't a chicken or the egg scenario ya know? This is a build your brand and you might lose money for 2 years because no one trusts you, but that slowly erodes if you invest in your business? Plus winning would help. It goes back to what I think we all agree - the Jayson Werth signing (or go bigger with a Correa). It's time to go sign someone next offseason (as they can't now) and show people you mean business, as well as Ng then must trade something for a 2nd massive player. It's time to put up. They whiffed this offseason completing the puzzle, so do they actually do it next and step all the way to contending? Past behavior dictates no, but we'll see.

Bruce Sherman clearly doesnt know how to run a baseball team....and why would he? He assumed Jeter would handle the baseball side and the revenue streams would be flowing. Both have failed to materialize. This was all a part of Jeter's ego wanting to play owner for a few years. It didn't matter if the investors he was able to persuade knew anything about baseball. He always admitted he didn't know how to run a team so I think his role has always been just ok'ing financial decisions. In that sense he has a lot of say in how the team is gonna be built but I don't think he's "running the team." Maybe Kim has no clue how to get him to put more into payroll?

Should we just go to FedEx and print out life size cut outs of Sandy, Jazz, Pablo, and..... Luzardo (whose 4th most important at this point? He's surpassed Rogers even with the SSS of this season right?), and then do smaller ones of Lewin, Sanchez, Garcia, Rogers, Rojas, Cooper, Wendle, Anderson, Soler, Eury, Meyer, Cabrera, Watson, etc. Because frankly, that's all Kim needs to do here to make a compelling argument to invest in the team. Prepare cardboard cutouts in a Sgt. Pepper's sort of vibe. Bruce has to like the Beatles to use his emotions against him. Right?

It's no coincidence he left this offseason. He realized Sherman was garbage. I don't buy that Jeter, who has only ever really played baseball his whole life, somehow conned these ultra-wealthy businessmen into investing into something. It's astronomically more likely that Jeter was used by these ultra-wealthy businessmen to acquire a team they had no intention of actually improving. Jeter, Ng, etc. are for optics. Sherman is a real piece of shit.

You started and ended real strong, and I'm not getting into this again beyond this post, but you should read the last thing I posted here - https://www.marlinsbaseball.com/topic/79451-kim-ng-after-first-full-year/page/9/#comments. Let's strive to be better.

Let's strive to be better. You seem to be obsessed with victimizing women. Why do you think women constantly need to be defended like they're nothing more than damsels in distress? I'm perfectly fine the way I am. I do think you need to be better though.

He seems to be treating her differently just based on the fact she’s a woman. Seems kinda sexist to me!
June 4, 20224 yr Jeter did nothing that Loria and Samson couldn't have done unfortunately. Look at all the studs Jeter's "Captains Camp" produced.... Going into Year 5 we are devoid of offensive talent and Jeter's big idea was to give Castellanos 100 million. Edited June 4, 20224 yr by jsprt14

That wouldn't have really worked either. Sometimes hitters slump

June 12, 20224 yr Author Down 5 - 0 against Verlander, the offense somehow manages to get 4 runs back and then Don goes with Bleier in the 7th and Head in the 8th??? Seriously, fuck this shit... Fire the motherfucker

June 12, 20224 yr Inexcusably poor management from Don today. Can't count this as a Mattingloss because EdCab gave up the 5 and we never came back from that, but Don just eliminated any chance of it with his bullpen mistakes.
June 14, 20224 yr Can we make this happen already? How about we try what the White Sox fans did? “Fire Don!?!” How do you take your ace/franchise player out of the game in the 8th tonight? You trust him enough to face Harper, but not Didi Gregorius who he dominated all night? What’s the thought process? Too much good momentum after Realmuto’s double play? Mattingly’s never won anything, and clearly never will.
June 14, 20224 yr If he went to Scott there I'd be less mad. Scott has been very solid lately. I still wanted Sandy vs Didi.
