Shoot I'm still annoyed I had to go to my bank to get a proper refund rather than the partial "store credit" refund that I got from them which they said was due to fees, and then the "store credit" was ALSO subjected to fees if I wanted to use it. Absolutely stupid.

Yeah ... spent a certain amount, got 70% back (you're telling me FEES accounted for 30%???), and then that 70% also being subject to fees.

I checked after. Spent the amount for a total of nine tickets spread evenly over three games. The refunded amounted to, at best after fees, seven of the cheapest available tickets for a mid-week day game. IE the cheapest of the cheapest.

Just awful.

While I get what you're saying and agree to an extent, they also do have some control over free agency. Sure, the player has to be interested and other teams could create a bidding war. However, they haven't even tried in the past when they should have. Perfect example is Realmuto last off-season. What stopped them from even trying to sign him, besides themselves?

We've gone over this before. They have less control in free agency even if they do everything right. Them not trying for Realmuto is on them but even if they really tried other teams are in the mix and the player has more options.

But yes, the part about "trying" is in their control.

With a contract extension there are way less factors involved and as long as the player is really willing to sign it's pretty much 100% in the team's control.

Corey Dickerson?  Adam Duvall?

Am I missing some significant Free Agent signing with the Marlins during the Sherman/Jeter years?

Its been cheap cheap cheap.

Loria may have signed guys with massive back loaded deals he never intended to keep.

HE STILL GOT THEM TO SIGN.

Loria was a fucking god awful owner.

This group is even more miserly than Jeff, until proven otherwise.

Thats pretty fucking bad.

They’ve signed people even if they weren’t big names.   But yes, time for them to put up or shut up.

This ownership group hasn't given us a reason to believe they'll ever put in the actual effort and money.

No they haven’t.   And they have a sliver of hope left in my book.

When did I say I agree with everything they do? When did I say they shouldn’t have tried to extend Marte mid-season last year?

My comment was very straightforward, calm down on overreacting to the first 2-3 weeks of FA. If by February they haven’t added impact players and extended Sandy, then yeah, outrage is deserved. Until then, R-E-L-A-X

This viewpoint is too logical haha.  I agree, it’s only a couple weeks in.  But we’ll see.

It remains to be seen what their “trying” is, and whether it matches our definition of trying

@marlins_09, I am too lazy to go back and quote your post so here's the reply:

I understand it is only a couple weeks in, but that feels like the same crap I've been hearing ever since this regime took over. "Trust the process", "be patient", "soon it will happen"

Are you and other fans who think that way going to just tell us in a month it has only been 2 months? When do the people ok with moving the goalposts get tired of moving them? I'd be happy to admit I was wrong if they end up doing productive useful things. But I just don't see that happening.

Somehow other teams who want to maybe become winners are managing to conduct business. All while we get Head and nothing else thus far.

Odds are it won't sadly.

I have to agree.  But I'm holding onto a sliver of hope.

Who has made a real, meaningful move yet? The Tigers for Wei Yen Rodriguez? The angels paying Syndy? Come on now.

If they don’t go get 2 true impact bats AND bullpen help, I’ll be right there with you guys. I’ll be the first one here saying how this group failed to support an insanely exciting group of SPs.

I’m not excusing anything any previous regime did, anything this group did previously. All I’m saying is let’s not start grading/overreacting to how they’re handing this offseason while guys are still rejecting QO’s.

also, trade for and extend Byron Buxton ASAP please

This is what the GIF lords thought a silver of hope would look like.

This regime said they want to spend and that should mean spending on some second and third tier FAs, because it's already a big deal for them to do so …

Confirmed.

They'll do that, sure, but they really need to get that top tier dude or two.

I think you’ll see them get one of those guys, but it’ll be via trade. Which is the right move
