Do you miss Jeffrey Loria and Mike Hill?

Kissing already? We aren't even at Chili's yet!

The fact that this thread actually exists just goes to show how horrific Sherman has been as an owner.

I will say what I do miss, though: the old pinstripe jerseys.

#1 thing -  Nobody here misses Loria - new owner level of cheapness just puts things in perspective since it's been enough time to see what type of owner Bruce is and now we can make a realistic comparison. Nobody here thinks Loria is a good owner - but he was better overall compared to Bruce. That's fair to say without it meaning we miss Loria.

#2 Hill knew how to at least manage rosters and I don't ever recall him spitting out totally false stats during a live interview or say he doesn't call other GMs and waits for them to call him. I do miss Hill (compared to our current GM especially) and wish Sherman and Jeter hadn't opted for the cheaper route.

Please stop confusing the facts. Loria was a terrible owner but Sherman is worse. We can hate both at the same time without missing our former owner. 😘

I think Sherman's underlings are worse, but Loria meddles more.

Personally for me I prefer Sherman. All he has to do is hire the right people.

We all know the team should have been sold to Mas. Local businessman, more money and more desire to win.

Instead we got stuck with the Derek Jeter group even though I’m willing to be MLB knew it was the weaker group.

Would Mas try again if Sherman ever sold?

Since then, they've bought into InterMiami, so I don't know if they'd be willing/able to get the Marlins too.....though they do have one of the top payrolls in MLS (which is admittedly a fraction of an MLB payroll).

Why do I get the feeling he'd team with A-Rod

I think cause that was already a planned thing, wasn't it? Sounds familiar anyways.

I must admit, I said some mean things about them before they left but I’d take them back right now.

Me too 😞

Was that Hill, though? We know Loria had his thumb on the button a whole bunch of times. Castillo was basically all we had in terms of value at those times, too.

It was Loria, Samson said Loria strictly looked at the BA top 100 and didn't value prospects. Thats why our guys would also be fleeced. If he wasn't in MLB's top 100 Loria wouldn't care if they were traded.

Loria gave Stanton a team crippling mega deal that he NEVER intended to pay the bank end of.  He can munch on an entire bag of dikks.

It wasn't going to be team crippling really at any point. In terms of how it affected his trade return, sure.

The team has simply always been operated like a small market team despite the fact that Miami is not a small market.

Why are we rewarding him?

because for a few years here and there he at least gave us a fun offense to watch?

You’re joking, right?

It was so crippling that new ownership had to TRADE THE MOST POPULAR PLAYER on the team (remember the year he hit 59 home runs) as soon as they took over the franchise.

they literally traded EVERYONE regardless of their contract so that's not really fair to use that as a point.  Even though they didn't move JT that year they still made it clear he was not to be part of the future of the team. I mean they even dumped Yelich who had a very friendly team deal.

Hi, let me introduce you to Bruce Sherman, a man that makes Jeffrey Loria look like George Steinbrenner.

Not really fair to make that comparison.

Loria sucked. Sherman sucks more.
