June 29, 200818 yr An absolutely huge win for the team and can really be the kind of game that turns things around....great win good defense and pitching but the offense still needs to wake up. Brian Runge needs to be suspended and i think he will be
June 29, 200818 yr Wow...you know what I just realized? The 1st half of the season is over. If you would've told me we would have a 42-39 record, at worst 2 games back of 1st place, at the end of the 1st half this year...I would've been pretty happy.
June 29, 200818 yr Great Job by Olsen. Kept us in it. Olsen and Nolasco are really pitching great and are the two guys i feel confident that we will win when they pitch. Miller is starting to get there but he and Tucker are young so they will be inconsistent. Hendrix needs to go! can't wait for JJ. Does anyone know how he pitched today in double A? I heard that might be his last start and then he's up here.
June 29, 200818 yr My thoughts: It's Hanley Ramirez's world, we're just living in it. But seriously, he has shown this year that he is ready to be a leader on this team. Uggla has been too, but Hanley's impressed me with his maturity (anyone see Jose Reyes' tantrum the other day?) Scotty....hang in there, buddy. Doing a good job. We won in spite of the most inept umpire I have ever seen. Runge, I believe, is a third-generation umpire, so it is questionable how he managed to pass umpire school. Missing a ball four call is unacceptable, even if it went in our favor. That's just as bad, if not worse, than the atrocious ball-strike calls he made. At least he didn't chest-bump Fredi. And finally, it was good to see Jeremy get that double after earning a golden sombrero. I believe he was swinging on all four of them. (Last year, Todd Linden earned a sombrero, but he was caught looking each time.) But seriously, Herm...run it out even if you're not sure if it's fair or foul.
June 29, 200818 yr Now: 3 over .500 v Nats SWEEP @ Rockies 2-2 @ Padres 2-1 @ Dodgers 2-2 Then: 7 over .500 ASB - 1st Place NL East

First 3 were swinging, 4th one was looking... redeemed himself nicely, though! One hell of a game and most definitely worth the crazy farmer's tan I got out there in the Fish Tank today!!
June 29, 200818 yr One hell of a game and most definitely worth the crazy farmer's tan I got out there in the Fish Tank today!! Haha, that's why I never wear shirts with sleeves at day games (but I still get a wretched tank-top tan). I totally forgot to tip my cap to Robert Andino for doing a very nice job filling in at 2nd. He definitely played a role in keeping us in the game and helping us get one of the runs back.

June 29, 200818 yr what good ending i was section 143 pinto and nelson kept us close enough to keep us in game olson only have one bad inng i heard this nelson first NL WIN
June 29, 200818 yr and looks like josh got into the 6th today but got a lil roughed up for 11 hits and 5 runs.....i say give him one more He will be fine... but yeah they will give him another start down in the minors... I don't want his first start back to be at Coors Field, not the best of places to start your comeback. Great win today.
June 29, 200818 yr It was hot, no it was Sahara desert burning, searing, mind-numbing hot. I almost left three or four times but in the end I found myself standing there screaming with tears running down my face just filled with joy over that ninth inning. Once again I come away thinking Jorge Cantu is baseball-wise the coolest, smartest guy on the field. He is everything Jeremy Hermida isn't. He's not perfect, but damn he knows what's going on every minute he's on the field as opposed to the fair-haired boy who seems to have his head up his a** much of the time. We are very lucky to have him. I wish more people appreciated how important he is to this team. Andino turning that doubleplay with a complete stranger for a partner and getting a hit when it mattered, then Hanley making it all possible in the ninth plus Olsen solid as a rock (he just never seems to get enough credit for how well he's doing this season) really helped define what this first half of the season was all about.
June 29, 200818 yr I was there today and... wow, what a game! Great win for us. I've already been there for 6 walkoffs this season.
June 29, 200818 yr ur right 2003, Andino had some key parts in todays game. Hanley was Hanley. Olsen continues to pitch solid and keep us in the game. Cantu came through big, AGAIN.
June 30, 200818 yr one game back behind the phillies and we have the nationals next while they have the braves
