How come I never see the Marlins wearing any cool jerseys?

For example, old-school jerseys or special jerseys like the camouflage ones the Padres wear.

Or even ones for holidays like the Nationals wore not too long ago.

I just noticed that and was wondering, how come?

i agree. the marlins should totally break out those futuristic uniforms they wore in the late 90's for the sake of looking cool.

There's no reason for any team to have more than three jerseys. One home, one away, one alternate. What more do you need? This is baseball, not a fashion show...

i think he means commemerative or throwback---

they wore 97 throwbacks a year or 2 ago---

i wish they had a teal throwback

Or I guess we could follow Washington's lead and wear jerseys with FLRIDA on the front...

I would not call the Padres camo uniforms cool, I think they're horrendous.

I would like to see the throwbacks, but Loria apparantly hates teal.

The futuristic ones from the late 90s were cool - I have John Boles game-used one. Huge fish logo on the front....

Also, they wore the old minor league "Miami Marlins" about 6 or 7 years ago - I've seen the Brad Penny one for sale somewhere. It was pretty plain - nothing special.

Or MALINS in their black jerseys! :thumbup

they should wear battle-scarred battle armor with blood stains dripping down from previous victims that suffered unfortunate fates and never lived to tell the tale!! That would help us get in opposing pitcher's heads! :|

The jerseys are fine the way they are now, I would like to see the all-teal jerseys they wore during spring training back in the day on a turn back the clock game.

How 'bout something like this?

Are those seriously shorts?

This isn't softball... :confused

Yeah, the White Sox wore them for a day or two in 1976. The single worst uniform in the history of baseball.

You named some horrible jerseys.

But yeah, I'd love to see a "throwback Friday" type of thing like many teams do.

The question is, do we have enough time space in between our "throwbacks" (circa 1993) unis and our current ones to have a constant throwback game? Our uniforms have changed, but it isn't quite enough time I think, to make it truly feel like "the good old days." It's not like there has been a generation or two that has no knowledge of our old designs. I think that is best part of wearing the throwbacks, rememberance of a bygone era. That being said, the Marlins have done it before, and I wouldn't be opposed to having it again soon.

However, I would like to see the "throwbacks," the teals, when the new park opens in 2012. It would be nearly 20 years since the Marlins came into existance and what better way to merge the past with the future?

Everyone thinks they're a comedian. :thumbdown

They were bad examples, but the first I could think of.

By the Nationals jersey I meant the Blue D.C. one with the U.S. flag in the D.C. letters, but that's not my the point.

I just thought it would be fun to see them sport some of the "throwbacks" every now and then.

Nothing too extreme and nothing too tacky.

Yeah, that's a terrible looking jersey. Horrific.

The funny thing about the futuristic ones is, they got the right idea, but wrong logo. Rather than a huge team logo, it would be a huge ad (like Pepsi or something), with Florida Marlins in fine print underneath.

I like playing it both ways, stylish and solid. I use a sleave on my right arm with 2 livestrong bands on my left arm and when i get one i will play with a dog tag on also i use baggy pants which i put under my cleats so it doesnt really show my shoes.

We are too young of a franchise to have retro jereseys but if anything i like the white vests with the teal undershirts they wore in the early 90's or the black undershirts they wore in the 1997 world series season

Hahaha. That's really not that futuristic, just European.

Look at his face, AIG is at least 6 times as important as Manchester Untied as far as Rooney is concerned.
