gizmo
I hate our defense. I hate Leo Nunez. I hate our bullpen. I hate everything.
yokofox33
Worst loss of the year. Leo needs to be removed from the closer role. Ohman sucked. Defense sucked. Gaby should have made the play. Stanton continues to blow. Poor, JJ. I'd start throwing chairs and sh*t if I were him.

Alexdw85
wes helms and leo nunez losers of the game. and edwin rodriguez had no business subbing in helms when chad tracys defense is 10 TIMES better than helms. f*ck em both.
BafflingBeerman
Didn't Edwin say a few weeks ago that he was going to keep a close eye on Nunez?
Shaft
Yeah Gaby sucks at picking groundballs out of the dirt, but so what? Stupid Wes Helms makes a terrible throw when hes ~70 feet away from first and even running towards it. Leo Nunez is an absolute dud
CyggyMarlin
Defense sucks, Bullpen sucks, Leo should not be on this team next year, and Stanton continues to act like the first 2 months never happened, and some of you people still believe in this team this year?? This is a .500 team folks... Up by 5 late in the game, a good team gets the victory... The Marlins are not good enough... So save any post-season pipe dreams for next year and enjoy being a spoiler
h2r09
seriously, leo nunez is not a closer. ive been saying this all year. he is an average bullpen arm. if we want to win next year we need to go out and acquire a closer some how. I swear to god if i see another minimum salary pieced together bullpen next year i will barely even watch. The best teams in the league dont do this every year like we do. I could go back through the entire season and see like 20 games we should have won but didnt because we have a pieced together bullpen. Also, why wouldnt we just let the hopper close the game out? he is being so underused it is ridiculous. we are up 5, there is no need to waste veras, ohman, and then nunez. why not just hopper from the 7th or 8th on? RIDICULOUS.

GoFishGoMs628
WHO DO WE BLAME? I'm so heartbroken. Good starting pitching, good hitting, bad defense, bad relief, and a terrible closer. I thought we got rid of Kevin Gregg? Time to also get rid of Edwin Rodriguez he much like Fredi does not know when to change things up can we please bring a La Russa manager to Florida, we would have 10 added wins regularly every season. Still a die hard and excited about the rest of this year and next, need to send Stanton down until he improves and gets some hits he looks like garbage. E CaT PanTHer
If we just blew half those games, or only 12, our record would be 76-54 and we'd be the division leaders right now. It just sucks to know that's how bad our bullpen has been.
BafflingBeerman
Apparently, 8 times in a JJ start has he left the game with a lead and saw the BP blow the game. Hair pulling.

Michael
Apparently, 8 times in a JJ start has he left the game with a lead and saw the BP blow the game. Hair pulling. So he should be 19-5. What happened to the good string of closers we had? From 04-07 we had guys that ended up being awesome closers for us. You could even say 2003. Looper / Urbina Benitez Jones Borowski Gregg [after he took over - if I remember] Then 08 til now? What happened? Gregg faltered Lindstrom was it? Nunez WHAT HAPPENED? JJ would be a 20 game winner right now if it wasn't for our bullpen. Not only that, he'd pretty much be a lock for the cy young.

It just sucks to know that's how bad our bullpen has been. That's what makes me really sick. We could be leading the division right now if our bullpen wasn't so disastrous. Number one thing to do this offseason, get the team a damn reliable bullpen!
Erick
The best bullpen in the league is the Padres bullpen. Most of their guys are minimum salary guys. We don't need to overspend for a bullpen; we just need to find the right guys. I've supported him for much of the year because he's had nice numbers, but the Leo Nunez experiment as closer has to end. It has nothing to do with his killer instinct, although I know it will be brought up. Anyway, his problem is back. He's now allowed 4 home runs in his last 5 innings. He also has 5 walks in those 5 innings. His entire month of August has been horrendus. Give Clay Hensley a shot. Someone else. The season is over; lets see if we have something better heading into next year. A closer doesn't need to throw 95 to close out games; he just needs to be a good reliever. Hensley's been the most consistent reliever on the team; he deserves a shot.

Through my nostalgic, hazy memory, it also seems like our closer fold in the late months, when the playoff pressure starts to mount (at least for us fans). They fall apart in July/August/September Then again, I remember Lindstrom not looking too good against the Phils at the beginning of last season too.
