July 11, 20168 yr Author No polls in the app. Yeah well I'd say maybe its coming in the future but I think we know it won't be.
July 11, 20168 yr I'll say Ozuna, with Jose a reeeeeal close second but the difference being he's been playing every day AND that outfield D. Realmuto though, gets mad props from me. SO nice to have a catcher that can do it all.
July 11, 20168 yr I voted Ozuna but was tempted to nominate Barry Bonds. He must be a big reason that we have 5 qualifying starters batting over .300 at the break, something which has only been done I think 5 times in 40 years.
July 11, 20168 yr Christian Yelich. He was only person who showed consistency as No.3 hitter on/off field. When Stanton was swinging at bad pitch and Ozuna was slumping on April, Yelich didn't go down through first half.
July 11, 20168 yr JT gets my vote because when deciding MVP you have to ask where would we have been without him, which would mean Mathis in that spot instead (although we all know it's really Jose). Dietrich needs to be mentioned here too. Top 3 OBP% in the NL and much improved defense - he more than just filled in for Dee. Sent from my iPhone using MarlinsBaseball.com mobile app
July 11, 20168 yr I'm going to say Bour just because of how important it was to have him perform at the level that he's performing.
July 11, 20168 yr Tough one. For a while I might've said Phelps because he really seemed to keep the bullpen from total dumpster file status until they got smart with the call-ups. He still gets a ton of credit. Always difficult to pass up Jose because he's been amazing. Probably Ozuna though, here's a guy they sent down to the minors last season because he was struggling so bad. But man, so many guys. Deitrich, Bour, Jose, Realmuto, Yelich, Prado, Ichiro, Conley, I mean you can go right down the line.
July 11, 20168 yr I love that this isn't a clear choice. It says a lot about this team and this season.
July 11, 20168 yr The front office gets a lot of hate, and I think undeservedly as they don't decide the payroll. But look at the guys we are discussing and where they came from. Dietrich we got for Escobar who was part of that big Blue Jays deal. Hech too. Prado and Phelps - that Eovaldi deal has made this team competitive. Ichiro was a great signing. Bour was a minor league Rule 5 draftee - wow! Barraclough we got for Cishek - nobody mentions that deal! Dee got busted but I would still make that deal! The entire OF is home grown, same with JT and Jose and Conley and Ramos. Not every move has been a home run (sorry), but none of the players we've traded have turned into all stars on other teams. Descalfini, Marisnick, Moran, Heaney, Eovaldi, etc - whatever. Even the Lomo for Capps deal was a steal. If Capps didn't have TJ he'd be an elite bullpen arm and still may be. These are great moves! Heck, I wanted a starter, but we just showed more aggressiveness in adding an all star closer to our pen. Imagine what we could do if our payroll was just average instead of at the bottom? My point is - hating Loria I get, but panning this front office? I don't see it. And yes, I know our minor league system is awful, but look at our roster - mostly young guys under control. July 11, 20168 yr DD gets honorable mention for what he has done to fill in. I think if JT has continues to have a good season and follows that up next year, we should really try to lock him up quickly. We will cross that bridge when we get to it though.

July 11, 20168 yr Obviously a hard choice because Ozuna and Fernandez were so good but I voted Deitrich because we lost Dee Gordon for 80 games and the dude stepped in and threw a .400 OBP up there.
July 11, 20168 yr Leaving this open until the second half starts to give everyone a chance to chime in Seeing as we've already played 88 games, the second half already started, dumbass
