Martin Prado to miss Opening Day

Recommended Posts

Who said it was torn? Could just be a pull.

Yes, it could also be even less, a "cramp". Cramps are more likely for this situation as well. If it's just a cramp he could be back within a couple weeks, but would need to be careful. Giancarlos hammy from a few years back was a pretty good grade 2 tear. Hopefully Prado just has a cramp or a grade 1 (which is the same thing as a "pulled" hammy). Sorry for the terminologies... Pretty much the hamstring can cramp, tear, or have tendon damage. There are various degrees of each. Pulled hammy is a torn hammy... Cramp is a spasm... Ruptured hammy is a grade 3 tear (muscle detaches from tendon). Also the hamstring tendon itself can tear and these tears can be pretty long nuisance injuries, but those creep up on you slowly with overuse. Prado most likely just a cramp which could be only a few weeks. Thanks, sorry... I have been in too much PT.

Prado wasn't even sure he would be ready in April. What the fuck.

Dang. I think Dietrich is capable of doing a good enough job with Rojas coming in later for defensive purposes. Rojas can also start against LHP

Cafardo brought up the idea of the Marlins going after Brett Lawrie but that doesn't make sense when he is hurt as well. If anything this makes it more likely that Tyler Moore makes the team.

Two things.

1) When can they retro the injury?

2) Didn't they change the DL from 15 to 10 days now?

To the last time he played. So at this point it's moot.

They could DL him for the first series and he can play the second series at this point.

And yes. It's 10 days now. Which is more reasonable. Get ready for Baltimore to manipulate that bitch this summer.

And for Mike hill to day? The DL is only 10 days now??
