Maybe the Marlins need to see one of Reynolds, Laureano, or Mullins get moved for motivation. Also, Reynolds wouldn't be playing CF for them so he is MORE valuable to the Marlins here for purposes of overpaying.

Frankly, they could blow away Paddack/Weathers. That's the equivalent of Luzardo/Fulton. Pirates are going to laugh at that so other names would have to be involved.

Hit them with Eury, Bleday, Salas, and Fulton, with some FV40 throw-ins outside Marlins top 20 (Jerar, etc.) and take back Bednar also. 

That's a monster trade. The Pirates have an excellent farm system, and those 4 guys above would likely grade out as their 3rd, 8th, 9th, and somewhere 10th-15th best prospect. They'd be LOADED. Best farm in baseball and poised for a crazy 2024.

Marlins solve MLB problems impacting nothing on MLB roster, and still have Watson, Cabrera, Meyer, Sixto, Eder, Burdick, Mack, Lewis, Cappe, McCambley, etc. And every major player has 3+ years of control besides Rojas, Anderson, Wendle, and Floro.

It's just insane.

maybe they have a potential trade partner in mind for Paddack and would flip him again to get a prospect they really want.

 

either way, Marlins are fucking stupid at this point for not just parting with some of their elite PROSPECTS for an elite PROVEN player at a pivotal position.  100% expect the Pirates to trade Reynolds away and we'll all look at what they got back and know we could have easily beaten that return and still had a top farm system.

I am expecting to feel as disgusted as I was when I saw Realmuto's deal or last Summer when they wouldn't just pay Marte.
